Comfortable seats

Looking for a version of the Nismo 370 seat but not wanting to pay $10,000 like the dealership quoted me (don't believe me call them yourselves, $2500 for the a$$ portion of the seat) that is just as "plush" you could say or stuffed. Something reclineable and sporty feeling.

I saw someone selling touring seats for 1,000$ for the pair and were heated.

roy'sz 12-02-2011 02:00 PM

That would be nice, but I would need to buy the switches for the heated seats and not wanting to go that far. hmm.....

I have a 2012 base/sport, I bought touring seats and they are way better due to the lumbar support. There is a seller selling white/gray touring seats WITH the heated switches.

Just so you know, the power seats and stuff bolts right in and plugs right up. I haven't bought my heated switches but the harness is all there.

I thought the nismo seats are the exact same as the base seats with just nismo on them and red stitching.

roy'sz 12-02-2011 02:41 PM

lol oh no martin! I sat in the nismo at the dealership last week and thought i was at the spa (maybe over exagurating) but they were a lot more cush feelin than our cardboard seats.

The Nismo seats and base seats are exactly the same.
Even the touring seats are the same design/layout with just leather and an added lumbar support.

roy'sz 12-02-2011 02:44 PM

really? I just sat in one and dd my z and you are saying they are the exact same? hahahaha

I ride in a Nismo Z a good bit, how long have you owned your Z?
Overtime the seats will stretch and move to you sitting in them, also the cushion will slowly wear.

roy'sz 12-02-2011 02:50 PM

had my z since june, had the cardboard feeling since day 2. bought it new with 90 miles on it (deal fell out at another dealership)

roy'sz 12-02-2011 02:51 PM

have you sat in a base model?

theDreamer 12-02-2011 02:52 PM

I would have your current seats reupholstered, you can even probably have some of the padding replaced for more 'comfortable' material.
Most shops just to do the seats in good leather will run you 1500 dollars.

I own a base model, drive & ride in a Nismo at least once a week.

roy'sz 12-02-2011 02:57 PM

thats very interesting! didn't mean to come of as a prick! I just sat in the nismo and was like "aaah" kinda like a cold beer at the end of a hot day ya know? then why do they price the 10,000 for nismo seats? typo on nissan's end? just because of badging and the earthquake in japan?

Because it says 'Nismo' on it honestly.
An example, the stock couple bumper is 300 dollars OEM new form Nissan and the Nismo OEM bumper new is 900 dollars. I would agree some minor changes in design cause a little more but because it is 'Nismo' it cost 3 times as much.

A lot of companies do this so it creates the exclusive of the car, people will not just go buy Nismo seats and throw them in their own car destroying the image or idea of the Nismo car.

martin82 12-02-2011 04:14 PM

Roy, did you check out the touring seats? I actually prefer them over the base due to the lumbar support. They are basically the exact same seats, except it has leather, lumbar, power, and heated seats. But for some reason I fit better on those.

LakeShow 12-02-2011 04:26 PM

The touring seats are nice but they seem to bother my lower back after a while. It's not the softest seat. I haven't st in a base or Nismo so I wouldn't know what those feel like but the heated seats are a huge plus.

martin82 12-02-2011 04:31 PM

I actually get lower back pain on both the base and touring, I am on the bigger side! So the bolster kills me hahahah. The bolster pushes me further away so it is nicer.

roy'sz 12-03-2011 03:25 AM

Yeah roy's a big son a B*tch too lol. Im 250 at 5'8'' and the seats kill my lower back. Lookin to find a place near my apartment that sells sparco seats so I can test sit them. Heated seats are a huge plus but I want the plush comfort of a cloth seat. Try to sit in a nismo and then a base and you most likely will see the lumbar support difference.
