spark plugs and oil before dyno tune
so im gettin uprev tune saturday i have motordyne e370, berk hfc, and stillen gen 3 with 25 row oil cooler. is it 100% NECESSARY ABSOLUTE MUST to change spark plugs before a tune....and what about oil..some ppl on the threads say its fine some say change it. i have 1200 miles til next oil change...so i really need one

I'd change the oil before the tune. To be honest, I changed mine before and after, but my tuner spent most of a weekend dialing mine in. You should be ok changing before and going back to your normal interval provided you're using a good quality oil.
Plugs would be dependent on mileage. If you don't have maintenance records from the previous owner having changed them at any point, throw a new set in. I'd also make sure I had clean air filters going in as well, but I'm OCD about things like that. |
well oil i have 1200 miles left plugs my previous owner which is bobo he has a vette now pretty sure hes still on here and he said both oil and sparks should be fine

Personally, unless I had the receipt for a set of new plugs or the invoice from having the work done, I'd go ahead and replace them. And changing the oil is cheap.
Honestly, any time I've ever bought a used car the first thing I did was change ALL fluids and plugs, as well as the belt. That way I know it's been done and I know the mileage to begin tracking the intervals. A oil analysis wouldn't be a bad idea either. Send a sample to Blackstone Labs when you change the oil and get an idea how your engine is wearing. |
