How do I know which version of UpRev I have?

I have the Stillen Supercharger kit and the supplied UpRev tune on my Z. I'm talking to a dyno shop about tweeking it for me, and he asked if I had the cable and If I knew which version of UpRev I had. I have the cable and the CD, anyone know how I can find out which version I have?

I'm going to work off the basis that you uploaded your map file from Stillen yourself.

Open Cipher if you only have the option to pull/erase codes then you have the Standard Cable. If all the menu options are available then you have the Tuner Version.

I had the tech's at Nissan install and upload everything for me. I requested from stillen to have the 50 state emission legal tune and not the tuner version. I didnt think i'd be needing to re-tune it after it was all said and done lol. I dont know if its a simple as that, or this tune shop is asking for like, UpRev V3.2a version

If the dealer uploaded the tune using the cable Stillen provide you then follow exactly what I said before.

cool, thanks! and I'm guessing that I need to plug the cable into my car for the Cipher to tell me which version I have?

Yes. Open Cipher, plug the cable into the laptop and your OBDII port. In the tools menu if you just have 'Retrieve and Clear Trouble Codes' then you have a Standard Cable. If all the other options are open the you have a tuner cable. Having a tuner cable does not necessarily mean you had to order the 'tuner' version of the kit from Stillen, those are two separate discussions.

if you go to an uprev protuner it won't matter what version you have. go to uprev's website and click on dealers and tuners. If you don't have a protuner near you, you can either do e tunes with a prodealer of your choice, or you will have to purchase the tuner upgrade license so you can have any tuner tune it.

You will have to buy a new license for UpRev, the Stillen one is not adjustable. It is also locked so you can't see anything. It's well worth the money, I wish I had just bought the tuner kit.

You mean the map file is locked, right? I was not aware that you could lock the actual licenese

you can't it can be tuned the way it is by a protuner but they will have to start from scratch which in the case of the stillen tune isn't a bad thing.

That's the way I understood it too

take it to dynosty

Think it would matter that I live in IN but the UpRev Shop is down in KY? Mainly wondering if the elevation difference would make a difference in the airpressure or something crazy like that, so the tune in KY wouldnt be setup decently for the area im racing in.

That is not what I was told by Stillen and my tuner. I had to purchase a license to tune it.

Did you buy a tuner kit? Then yeah but if you already had the stillen base tune on there an "uprev pro tuner" would not have needed to sell you a license
