Tune?

Quick question. Im down here in austin and im thinking about getting an uprev tune. would it be kinda pointless being that all i have is a k&n cai? i think just reducing the throttle lag might be worth it? someone told me to get test pipes if i wanted anytype of gains. 7at.

You will see very minimal gains however drivability would be improved. Do you plan on doing any other mods?

probably not anytime real soon. would it be smarter to just wait and throw on exaust before a tune or would that not even really matter? i think the quoted me 700 bucks. thanks for the reply.

Yea if you plan on doing other mods I would try and hold off.

Just wait after your mods. Not worth it at your current situation.

Getting a dyno tune at this point would be pretty much pointless and a waste of money, but for $500 you can get the Osiris standard kit with the reflash cable, rough in the tune now then adjust later on when you do get more mods.. you get to enjoy it along the way. Plus if you do decide to get a dyno tune later on it'll be at a reduced price since you already own the license

It's not all about peak power. Being able to have the throttle tables adjusted and lower the fan turn-on temps is helpful. Is it worth it with just an intake? Depends on how much $500 means to you.

CSGLEON 03-07-2014 11:38 AM

Thanks for the reply chuck. From what I have read it might be worth it to me. In terms of a more consistent trotter response. I don't know they quoted me 700.

The fan tables help too in TX. For $700 I'd hope they cuts you a break on future tunes.

$700 sounds about right...that typically what the license and 2 hours of tune time runs. I would hold off though until you do three or four breather mods. That way you can maximize the tune ad the money spent will be more worthwhile.

i think getting rid of the throttle lag is plenty enough to do the uprev if you're into that stuff.

i remember someone mentioning in some states that these ecu reflashes can trigger errors when you do emissions (smog) check via OBD2. might want to look into that issue in your region. GL!

I still say that its a waste to pay for a full dyno tune with just those mods. You can set up the fan control, throttle control, etc with etunes as well.. the license is only $300 so you're paying $400 for a one time service of setting that all up

$500 Osiris standard all day. Then throw it on the dyno at the very end if you want to. Even if they give you a break on retunes the price will be the same or less and you own the reflash cable so you can remove the tune and sell it used later on if you need to

Don't bother with a tune. Just go full bolt ons then tune it. Not worth the money to tune for just an intake.
