For a 2009. If you can find a used accessport. Don't bother. Use Uprev or ecutek.

Not to mention they are hard to find. Cobb discontinued it pretty quick and I see used Accessports sell quick on the 350z forums.

Thanks guys. I have been looking into uprev but don't know what to buy. Im kind of a newb and their site doesn't help me much. Id hate to buy the wrong thing. Do they just send me a cable and I upload my data to it and they send it back with a tune?

What do you have done to your car so far? Nothing, then do not get a tune.
If you are looking for some power bump, then jump on other mods first, the Z does not expand much performance wise with a tune like other platforms.

I have a stillen gen 3, invidia cbe and was contemplating getting some hfc and a y pipe. If I decide to put the hfc and the y pipe, do I need to get a tune? or would it just yield a little power and a tune is optional?

At that point (HFC added) I would throw in a tune.
First couple mods the car will respond and adjust but once you throw in HFC or TP you really starts throwing off the fuel and other items, the main idea behind the tune on the Z is to get everything back in check to be safe & reliable power. Also, it allows other options to be opened up, like better fan control, multiple maps, and more.

Doesn't a cbe go from the cats back, negating a need for a different y-pipe?

I am contemplating changing it out to get a little louder sound. As im sure you know the invidia isn't one of the loudest out there. If I was to just throw some hfc's on it, would a tune be a must?

HFCs or test pipes might get you the volume you're looking for. A tune wouldn't be a bad idea at that point. In addition to the peak power, you pick up quite a bit of lower rpm power.

Ok good advice. With that said what platform from uprev is everyone using? I have looked at the website and don't really know what to get. Do you have any recommendations as far as tuning?

I'd go into your local forum and see who they recommend. I've never been a fan of remote tuning, so you need someone local to you.

You have a few options:
-Custom tune, probably the best option. You pay for the license from a tuning shop and they throw the car on the dyno and tune it for you. Usually around $500-600
-Canned tune, next best option, Uprev will send you a cable (possibly another tuning shop) and you load up a tune, do some data logging and they adjust, upload new tune
-Tuner license, this option allows you to have the cable, make adjustments yourself, but you do the tuning all yourself

Yes you need a tune after installing Catback and after market intake system especially when you decide to install HFC or test pipes. The car will run lean and none of us want to deal with that matter of fact, tune will help your car get the most out of your mods and make you smile and say it worth every penny.

As for which tuning software you'll get, I suggest you ECUTEK its far more advanced than basic software that Uprev have for us.

Contact Visconti for more information about tuning how to go from there.

I strongly suggest you to do all of the tuning thing after the HFC (If you're planning to)

This. Get all of your parts installed and then tune. Don't get the tune and then add things later.
