Im very glad you got your car straightened out, but I hope this helps you and other newbs into reading about the car FIRST and then make changes. Seriously
First of all I'm not a newb at all, I'm just new to this car. My last car saved the stock tune as you change it with a very similar program so I figured it was the same.

Second, I read plenty about the car and didn't see anything about this. After all, this sort of thing is what the forums are for, one person has a problem, asks people for help to resolve it, and from then on people learn from other people's mistakes.
But thanks for the advice👍

Being new to "this car" would make you a newb in my mind. Great that you knew your last VW so well, but clearly this is different. Just because I learned buttloads about my last Wrx and the 40 cars before it, I am not an automatic expert when I step into a new vehicle I've never owned.

this forum IS great and has lots of useful information. Again, im very happy you didnt mess up your car, as using paper clips to jump relays on which you have no idea what they are doing, sounds like you came pretty close.

I'm just saying just because you're not an expert doesn't mean your a newb. I wouldn't say a mechanic is a newb just because he hasn't worked on this specific car before, especially because the basics are all the same.

Glad to hear this is resolved. Most "new" forum goers neglect to post that the problem was resolved and the fix action. This will help prevent others from making the same mistake.
