Pro tuner for consult?

Any pro tuners with a lot of Uprev-specific experience willing to let me bounce some info off of them? I'm trying to figure out some weirdness I'm seeing.

Thank you in advance!

he probably couldn't flash your ECU because you have a 2013 with a rom that UPREV might not have yet.

All it need for an unknown ECU is to have the Dump ECU function on the Tuner/Pro Cable and Download the ROM from the ECU and sending it to Uprev.
Usually take up to 2 weeks before receiving the Uprev version of it to be flashed into the new ECU.

as far as your Tuner that want to upload another 370z map.... if the mods are similar the difference wont be that big but IMO, I would ask for a proper tune made for YOUR car.

Thanks

That was very detailed and informative, what is IMO ?

Trust......
There isnt any black magic in tuning so it would be difficult to actualy feel/know the difference unless you follow your tuner and look at what he is doing while he tune your car.

Its like the subaru/evo world where Ive seen them sharing their tune and they still run fine.

Plus, the tune for one car with bolt ons vs. another isn't really going to be that different. Every tuner I've seen has a map for the most common setups that is about 80% dialed in, and they just tweak that rather than doing everything from scratch every time. Which is nice, if you're paying by the hour for dyno time.

I would not suggest flashing a rom from another ecu code(tuning maps are ok just not the rom/tuning maps would most likely need adjustments). Was the reason for no flash a ISO fuse issue or just no rom available?

Maduro 09-13-2013 08:58 PM

Hi John@Z1 so what kind of problems will I have in the future if they used a ROM from a different 370z and can another tuner tell if I have the wrong ROM???????

Maduro 09-15-2013 10:53 PM

Update on my first Uprev got it done on Fri. let me know if you think these numbers are low
299.4 whp and 274. Torque with the following mods Stillen CAI / Berk Test pipes / Stillen CBE

pretty spot on for what you have

Maduro 09-22-2013 02:09 AM

Torque ?

Hey Megan370z

Had someone else telling me that the 274 was too high !!??

Maduro 09-22-2013 02:38 AM

Also what is the down side of putting someone else ROM on your car

the guy here on the forum said that 274wTQ was too high , he probably meant that the dyno read high because 274wtq is more than what we usually see from a fully modded VHR engine.

I did mentioned that you were pretty much spot on with your mod at 299whp. but I can see the 274 being a little bit high than average. its also depend on your setup. so don't feel bad.

as an example here on my dyno sheet , the only way I could be at over 275wtq was using a lower gear on a dynapack.
I proved this dynapack to be within 1% read(higher) from a dynojet a couple hours prior during that day.

in average the guys get like 265wtq *peak*
it will be different when someone is using a different intake manifold like the M370 since it shift the TQ down by like 300-400rpm which gives a small Tq gain in mid-range. due to longer intake runners.

Edit;
Also keep in mind about the SAE Vs STD dyno reading . STD being higher
.

this dynosheet is in SAE.

Well, I'm not an official Pro Tuner, but I tuned a few different cars and I never tried this. Nissan made an update and it finish with an higher letter.
as example on my VHR ECU they made 1 update.
1EA4B / 1EA4A
they have several different Rom per year and some has update.
As long as you stay within what your ECU accept . there will be no problem.

All I know is I think you cant flash a rom with a complete different serial.
depending on the serial you have. I remember at one point where my VHR was the primary and I wanted to flash my HR Ecu . it just didn't work. Wrong system file, something like this.

Maduro 09-22-2013 05:14 PM

Rom

Let me start by saying thank you,....... Just so I understand a tuner Can Not Flash a random ROM from some other 370z on to some one else's ECU because of serial numbers??

correct!!!!

Maduro 09-24-2013 03:54 PM

This is why I ask if a ROM from a different car can be used on another car :

"I can't post the ROM file because of size limits. Shoot me your email if you want my current ROM file"

This is a question someone asked !!??

I don't know why you just email Uprev they will give you a back to stock file and a Uprev stock file and your good to go it is free and takes about 3days.

agree with this !

I asked the C version of my HR Ecu on Sunday night and I received the reply back with the file around noon today.;)

Keep getting a Raddling / Rasping sound, I'm being told that its from the Berk test pipes do you know anyone else with the same problem real don't like it. Would changing them out for long tube headers solve my problem???

Rasp is really common with test pipes. Headers would likely make it worse.
