Tune after LTH install
I recently got my LTH installed and I know that I need a re-tune. I had an Uprev tune done once before after my intake and CBE was put on. I am trying to get a hold of the place (guy) that did my initial tune, but he has not gotten back to me. I had to drive my car back from Simi Valley to San Diego and have put on about 250 mainly highway miles since the headers. How much further should I push it? It looks as though I will have to go back up to Long Beach or Simi for the re-tune. Am I hurting the car or risking detonation?? Advice wanted. Thanks guys.

fwiw I ran with LTH's and no tune for a year with no problems.

Yea, you already have a tune, so I would imagine A/F isn't too far off.
edit: FYI; use wstar's smooth throttle tables. Put a tuned map w/o it and another one w/ it. I've been driving w/ it and I like it so far. |
I will be trying out wstar's throttle map. I'm wondering why so many people before were telling me that I must get a re-tune after the headers since I have already had one due to risk of detonation? Is that a real possibility? Either way, I'm planning on driving back up to LA area Sept. 7th. Now, does anyone recommend Church Automotive or Specialty Z over one another for a quality tune?

^church's dyno numbers will make you happy...
But it's like saying you have a big D when it's as big as your pinky, lol |
