Tuned at R/T tuning- READ THIS
For anyone in the east coast area or Philly, if you do not know the guys at RT, you are missing out. This is the second car I have had tuned there, not only with great results, but more importantly my vehicle was handled by a group of professionals. I drove 4 hours one way to get to RT, and have so now twice. Vince is the primary Nissan tuner, and does a fantastic job. I was there for quite some time (I was late- drove through a monsoon yesterday) and as always I like to commend those who perform business in the proper fashion. While I most likely did not present myself well when I arrived, I had awaken at 5 am and drove over 4 hours, half of which through a monsoon rain storm, I was tired and not in the right frame of mind, for that I apologize, I was not myself. I pay attention to things most do not, so I would like to share my experience.
Everyone was kind and genuine, and I listened to James in the speed shop/ lounge and he represents the company well. He talked to all the customers that came through the door and on the phone with the utmost courtesy and professionalism, regardless if they were buying parts or not. I respect this, he was not pushy, but he was kind and informative, I have talked to far too many “sales” personnel who get angry and or frustrated with educating customers. From the outside looking in, he is an excellent representation of this company, as are the others, but with the separated offices now, I had the pleasure of overhearing James acquire parts, dispatch parts to the techs, inventory received parts and give price quotes, etc. The actual shop is small, but it is well organized and quite clean, this means a lot to me, and most people overlook this, I cannot stand a shop that looks like a junk yard. I also watched one of their techs put a borla exhaust on a new camaro ss with the utmost care and precision, and spent time with the customer under the car, as well as taking time to clean the exhaust and make sure the tips were properly aligned. They gave their customer options, and discussed issues and solutions, which does not happen often enough in our business world. Erik, Vince, James, and everyone I talked to there (my apologies if I missed your name) were all down to earth, and you could see they enjoy what they are doing, which is a great motivator. For those who do not know, I work in the automotive business, not in the aftermarket or performance sector, but as a Honda Service Advisor for Smail Honda Village in Greensburg, PA. I have countless training experience from Honda, and as of last year I now hold an MBA and MSIS masters degrees (no this is not a horn tooting session, I am still a regular guy with an average job, and yes, you will find grammar mistakes through this, thanks, I know) but I feel I have a grasp on customer service and what it takes to run a business, of which R/T is doing well as evident by their growth. Keep it up and thank you to the staff for yet again making me a satisfied customer. Now for the good stuff! http://www.the370z.com/members/joepr...-rt-tuning.jpg |
Glad it was a worthwhile trip for you  I know several other people who have come away from their shop very satisfied as well. And it's always nice to hear good reviews about a forum sponsor

Joe, nice numbers bud. RT Tuning did my Z too. Vince knows his stuff. ANY questions I had. He answered them with no problems. Now the next question. Would I drive back there (4 hrs for me too) to get another tune. The answer is YES.
|
No keep the m370. Who cares if your peak hp is lower.

Vince and the guys @ R/T are great nice dyno sheet .

My wife and I drove 8+ hours to get our Z tuned by Vince. We were very impressed with how organized and professional everyone is there. The operation runs smoother than most car dealerships. We won't hesitate to make the journey there in the future if/when we need their services.

but on a serious note i wonder what kind of number R/T could pull out of my car vs AAM's.......:stirthepot: |
Good question. My experience on a different car was not that good at AAM, but very satisfied with what Vince did at R/T. FYI another good shop is JTunes in Delaware. Hok and his crew specialize in our cars and have done some nice work on my Z.

i'm just curious as to if there is anything left to pull out of my car through a tune lol i guess i'm greedy. |

Osiris, they have ECUtek, but Vince is so dang good with UPREV and they still have map switching it was a no brainer. the higher idle also makes the car easier to pull out with, and it frigging SCREAMS at 7800 RPMS, he also lowered the fan temps and some other little things like a real rev limter etc. |
RT is the largest uprev dealer on the east coast. I believe Vince also does training sessions and teaches other tuners what to do. I'm conVINCEd that there is nothing he doesn't know about uprev tuning.
|
Looks better/safer tune now from that knock event that happened in run 1 on the oem map probably. If that didn't happen the increase up top would have been smaller of a gap. Also STD numbers are inflated about 4%. Overall you got maybe 30hp and 40tq over stock which I'm sure every tuner could achieve.
Not trying to be a Debbie downer but people reading these need to understand the facts so they're not butt hurt and confused when they don't get similar numbers if their tuner uses the correct setting or their 1/4 mile times don't add up. |
Vince is awesome, drove 6 hours to get tuned by him. Do it right and do it once.
BTW, I see that you've Z1 headers, why is the hp in the 320+ range, shouldn't they be more than 330 atleast even with the Motordyne Manifold. |
Vince WILL be my next trip for sure, I have RHFC's om order and looking into the M370. Once all of that is done I will ne calling him and making the 5hr(one way) trip. I just hope its before winter. :/

You wont be disappointed when you make the trip. |

I'm still blown away with how professional and organized they are. |

this was the point of the thread, I was slightly disapointed with the final whp number was expecting 330 ish, but oh well, I will go dyno when it is cold outside, then I will have that number...but again the numbers were not the point, I am in customer service and these guys do it right, that is hard to find these days, we spend days training on the "customer experience" and forming a relationship, and these guys know what to do, just a bunch of nice guys, again at least from my time spent there. I think if they ever grow large enough they should open Pittsburgh branch we do not have a "dominate" tuner shop over here, a few up an coming, but most fail because they have no idea how to run a business...and I will offer my services  I need to get out of the dealer side. I plan on gtm sc this thing next summer(hopefully business is so slow...so slow I can be posting) and I will be making that driver again to get a Vince tune. |
