Unhappy I Need a good Tune in the state of NC or close by

Okay, so I am posting this thread hoping a shop steps up to the plate. I have had a lot of issues with my Z when it comes to the tune. I want a shop that knows how to put down a good n/a tune and a nitrous tune. If you could please get in contact with me that would be greatly appreciated.
Some things about the car
FI LTH and CBE
Stillen g3 intakes
Stillen UD pulley
Jwt clutch and flywheel
Zex nitrous kit wet shot going for 150

I am currently in the process of pulling out my old motor b/c I purchased one from Z1 recently from a man name Jon Parham. I don't know what is actually wrong with my current motor other than it is messed up Probably a bent valve resulting from a bad tune.
My original thread if you want to be updated
Zex kit install 100 shot

I just feel like when I talk to people on the phone they tell me what I want to hear and when I get there we run into all sorts of problems.

You're overseas, you've already dropped so much money into a new motor and redoing your kit.....I would ship your car to a reputable tuner instead of trying to find one close. I'm sure it's probably not money you want to spend but after the first fiasco, it may be worth it. I was really rooting for you too! Still excited to see future numbers. I'm right on the verge of going n20 here pretty soon.

The new motor price wasn't too bad b/c they took my old motor in on top of that. As far as the nitrous kit I just added a couple things remote bottle opener, a new bottle bracket with the heating pad on it and the combination kit of it being bottle pressure heated. Your def. right I don't want to spend more money but I do want to get it right. Everybody talks a big game but once they get my money it's pretty much like WTF!

I don't know how far they are from you but i've heard nothing but good things about Z1, and Jon. If you've already been dealing with Jon then i'd suggest letting him tune it. I hear he's great and has achieved some big numbers on our cars, both N/A and FI.

In my opinion, a weekend trip would be worth drive/time/gas. I originally planned to drive 4 1/2 hours to uprev when I lived in Texas. Now I cant drive anywhere......stupid island.

I've emailed Jon several times already and the shop itself on the forum but still no reply.

I've never really had any luck with messaging them on the forum but give em a call, or maybe even hit em up on Facebook. I think they update that pretty frequently.

There's CIN Motorsports in Charlotte, NC. I had them do a 60k mile service on my G37, I was happy with the service they provided me with. Someone at Z1 Motorsports recommended them to me. My car is going back to them to get its differential bushing replaced with a polyurethane unit. They are an Uprev tuner as well. They have some cool projects going on too. One of them being a turbo kit that they're developing for 370Z/G37. The shop, though small, was stacked full of some fast cars.

Ya I have already sent them an email just waiting for a response. I have actually been there before when Motion Lab Tuning tuned my vehicle and didn't have their own dyno yet and was using CIN's. When I was there they were packed with g35s and a couple 370s and a nice looking vette. My buddy had a few words with the mechanic while I was gone getting my bottle filled, basically the jist was they could do a better job.

I saw a C6 Vette while I was there. The shop had a couple of turbo'd 350Z, and one turbo 370Z. There was also a G37, FD RX7, a couple of G35s, and some 240s that had their quarter panels cut off. I'm pleased with the work that they do. I'm aware of Motion Lab but I have no experience with them so I didn't mention them.

What I liked about CIN is that after they finished working on my car, the guy actually took me under the car while it was on a lift and went over everything he did and showed me my old parts. He also showed me some areas requiring attention. The service was cheaper that it'd be at the dealership, and the work that was supposed to be done was actually done. I wouldn't hesitate to take my car back there for any work that I couldn't handle myself.

EDIT: So you wouldn't go back to Motion Lab? I'm going to be needing a tune soon and was wondering about Motion Lab.

they have a huge background in tuning nissans

im also going to link this thread to Jordan

when i was stationed in Jacksonville this was the only shop i would trust to do my tuning (and until they were established i was doing things myself and dealing with alot of shady people.)

Z1 FTW Just got off the phone with Jon and since I bought my motor from them I am getting a deal! Also it was comforting to hear that they did tune a 370 with nitrous 100 shot. I wish that person was on the forum and post their results.

Zex kit install 100 shot

I just feel like when I talk to people on the phone they tell me what I want to hear and when I get there we run into all sorts of problems.

Hey Ryan, Alex told me that you guys talked the other day. I'm sincerely sorry to hear about the motor. Anyway, a lot of time has passed since we saw you, and with time, some of the details become less granular.

I feel like a few major points should be clarified though. Looking at the invoice, we only charged you for the pump gas calibration. We were originally going to perform two custom maps, a 93 octane pump gas map and the other one with the wet-shot N2O system. Once we finished up with the pump gas tune, we got started on the N2O tune but didn't get very far into it. That is where we found that there was a major issue with your nitrous kit. Along with yourself, your friend and I, we determined that the kit would provide additional fuel as it was supposed to, but not nitrous. After just 1 or 2 pulls the nitrous would become very, very weak or non-existent. After speaking with the manufacturer, I believe they determined that the solenoid or some part on the system was decfetive, and since it was not purchased or installed by us, you guys were going to get it working.

Ultimately, we weren't able to provide a functional N2O tune due to the activation problem the kit was having. We also discounted the extra $100 off your invoice that we had originally agreed to (I just checked the invoice to be certain). At the time, I told you that I would do my best to help with the N20 tune once you got back to Wilmington and we could bounce logs back and forth if you wanted to do that. You ended up purchasing a Cipher cable and the idea was to go as EASY as possible once we started logging data.

So again, I am truly sorry to hear of your problem. Please let me (or Alex) know if we can do anything for you. I tried calling before responding to this thread but it looks like your number has changed.

Best regards,
Todd

CIN is an awesome shop and Bobby (their Master Tech) really knows his stuff.

If for whatever reason your situation with Z1 (also a GREAT bunch of guys) doesn't work out, I would also support CIN as a place to look at.

When I slid off the road on my way to Md 3 days before christmas, they got a call from my roommate, sent their truck/trailer out and "collected" me + car. Brought me back to the shop, got the car on a lift to inspect, pulled my rear wheels off and re-balanced them to see if they had been warped. Couldn't get to an alignment rack that day, so they dropped me off at a hotel and picked me up the next morning. Got the alignment sorted out the next day and I was good to go. They never charged me a penny.

Stand up guys, and I was happy to run into them again at ZDayZ and thank them once more for their help. I'm honestly surprised they don't have a rep on here of some sort...

Todd,

I hope you guys are doing well I have heard you expanded. I do agree that I think it was a combination of things that caused this. Since you decided to comment on my post I am starting to remember a lot. You already knew about my motor being blown so I hope your not perpetrating that this is the first time you heard of it. Once it happened I heard less and less from you guys. Alex I believe was supposed to get back to me about some forged internals or a possible motor swap, that never came to light either. You told me if I wasn't satisfied with the tune I could get my money back, a five hour drive 1 way and no I am not. I will not ask for a refund though as you did spend a lot of time doing the tune. Your friends at CIN even told my buddy while we were filling the bottle that you did not fully understand the Nissan platform and offered me to get it done by them after you left. I refused b/c I did needed to get back home and I wanted to give you guys a chance. Am I saying you guys don't know what your doing? No. Am I a satisfied customer? No. I did not start a thread talking bad about you guys and I have only shared my experience with people who have asked. I was pretty sure I was short and professional in leaving that conversation with Alex. Thank you for checking up on me, I am in Afghanistan again so that is why my number does not work. I wish you guys the best and I hope you make a break through for the 370 community.
