HKS Intakes and muffler delete.

Changes to the tune:

1. Raised Rev Limiter
2. Speed Limiter Removed
3. Fuel Map Changes
4. Using EcuTek's RaceRom Ignition Timing Control

Thought it was important to show what kind of gains could be had with just the correct ignition control.

So No changes to the VVT or VVEL.

With the in house testing that was already done there are gains to be had with VVT changes and will be showing that on the next dyno session.

nice gains, just wondering why weren't the VVT and VVEL not tuned at the same time?

I think they just wanted to see what could be done with purely timing control. And then later, see if VVEL tuning provides gains.

I totally understand..

UpRev is actually really good software.

EcuTek is just going to take the 370Z to the next level

Agreed. I used UpRev a lot on my Pontiac Solstice. Loved it! Use to data log all the time till I had ever inch tuned exactly where I wanted it.

PM me for the tune $?

ok, good to know that. I meant if they can tune the VVEL now, why wait for another time when the car was sitting on the dyno. Unless they need to do more testing with it.
But either way more kudos to Visconti and EcuTek to provide another EMS option for the VQ community.

Very interesting. With uprev it seemed that there wasn't much gain to be had with additional ignition advance...

Really looking forward to seeing effects after VVEL tuning.

Was baseline with mods but no tune?

Yeah, UpRev, I believe, updates the ignition targets but still allows the factory nissan advance/retard algorithm to handle the pursuit of those targets.

I'm guessing ECUTek replaces that algorithm with a more conventional "I tell you to do THIS, you go and do THIS" style system.

With out giving too much away EcuTek has been very successful in the GTR and Juke market because they understand the ignition strategies in the nissian ecus... So although UpRev changes one of the ignition maps.. The one they change isn't always used.

Anyways EcuTeks Custom Ecu code called racerom can high jack any input and output in the Ecu .. So we have full timing control with a fully functional knock control system.

One simple question. UpRev or EcuTek? And why?

:hello:

Also, when will you guys have results after VVEL tuning?

John,

Do you have any logs to post in csv or raw? Particularly that show the timing curve?

G37Sam 04-25-2013 05:44 AM

Asking a tuner for datalogs is like asking a chef for his recipe. He won't share unless he's an amateur :)
