John
Well, other than timing there hasn't been a whole lot of A vs B on currently available features. That would be a good thing to have up there.

What exactly is timing control? How would our cars benefit from it? I'm getting a tune within a week or two and I might give ECUTEK a shot.

EcuTek has given us the ability to have a "simplified" ignition timing control where we, the tuner has the ability to precisely control the amount of ignition timing degrees like "normal". Nissan's factory timing strategy is rather complicated and the values in the factory maps can be confusing and won't give us a consistent value at the end of the day. The more control we have the better so the ECU cannot over advance or retard, very important especially for forced induction applications.

So it essentially makes it more convenient for tuners to tune FI systems efficiently. Would ignition timing make a marginal difference on a NA setup?

Timing makes a difference regardless. Being able to set values and not have the ecu change them is very helpful.

I see. I think I'll go with ECUTEK and post the results. I'm aiming for 305 whp, but more importantly a smooth curve on the dyno.

Just spoke with Cody from fa20club.com located in Miami. He offers both uprev and ECUTEK, he works primarily on FI FRSs/BRZs and GTRs. He assured me that ECUTEK is far better than Uprev and it would be by far the better option. I'm going to setup an appointment with him as soon as I get my car back early next week! Can't wait.

Default Different tunes for bank 1 and bank 2

Hi all. I am new to the Z world in 2013 and have a question about getting a tune.

The bank 1 exhaust cam has about 1.7mm less lift than the bank 2 exhaust cam per the 2012 service manual. This implies that each bank might require a slightly different tune for best performance. Can and should the ignition timing, a/f, intake cam timing for each bank be tuned independently with the ECUtek software?
