Default Motion Lab Tuned 2011 Nismo 460whp/380wtq Stillen and DW making power!

Shop: Motion Lab Tuning
Dyno Type: 2WD Mustang Dyno
Boost: 12psi
Fuel: 93OCT
Target AFR: 11.2:1
SAE Corrections: Default Corrections
Peak HP at RPM: 460whp @ 6900 RPMs
Peak Torque at RPM: 380wtq @ 6300 RPMs
Transmission: Stock 6speed
Gear: 4th
Engine Management: UpRev Osiris tuning suite
Engine/Power Modifications:
  • Stillen supercharger kit w/ Vortech impeller upgrade
  • DW 1000cc injectors
  • DW 320LPH fuel pump
  • ART test pipes
  • NISMO cat-back
  • GT-R Spark plugs
  • z1motorsports clutch kit and lightweight flywheel
  • 34Row SETRAB oil cooler w/ custom built lines.

This is another 2011 Nismo we recently completed on the dyno. We took care of a few things for him such as injector upgrade, Vortech impeller upgrade, fuel pump, clutch, and the new 34row SETRAB oil cooler. We turned to Deatschwerks for the fuel modifications as we have had nothing but success with the brand over the past few years. We used their 850cc on the GReddy TT Nismo and originally planned on using those again, but there was a small back order. Mike @ DW hooked us up with a set of 1000cc Bosch injectors to give a try. The WOT power tuning was very easy with these injectors. Took a little massaging to get the idle and start-up where it should be, and we have a little more work to do, but overall for an injector that size on a 6cylinder we were very impressed. The 320LPH fuel pump kept up without issue. The new 34row SETRAB cooler replaced his old 19row Stillen set-up. However the lines didnt quite reach the new core. We used some awesome stainless braided hose from XRP to make it reach. After the custom lines were built we threw her on the dyno and this is what we saw on 93OCT pump gas. The previous results were around 420-430whp on a Mustang dyno. We have confirmed recently that we are anywhere from 1%-3% lower than a mustang dyno with our DynoCom FX5000-AWD. The car was much smoother than before and he was pleased with the power delivery. A few small things left to button up and I think the car will be perfect for our customer!

Just to throw some more info on our dyno out there, some of the previous cars we have tuned recently:

- 460RWHP/540RWTQ on a twin turbo 2010 camero at 8psi w/ twin T61
- 398RWHP/420RWTQ on a 2007 stock Shelby GT500 mustang
- 480AWHP/400AWTQ on a evox MR that we built the cylinder head and TC-SST transmission with an FPRed
- 340AWHP/335AWTQ on an stock turbo evox with bolt ons
- 252RWHP/265RWTQ on a SR20DET swapped 240sx with the new series2 EMS from AEM and a GT28RS at 14psi
- 236AWHP/267AWTQ on a TD04 stage2 WRX

I have plenty of other tunes on the new dyno. We find it pretty close with the mustang we used to use verified by some previously tuned customers. For example we had a speed6 that we did a while back. It made 2hp less and 15ft/lbs less on our dyno versus the mustang that we originally tuned on.

You can also see some of the other recent posts we have had on the Proven Power bragging forums.

Thanks,
Alex Goodwin

That'd be awesome! This is a customer car though. I will link him to the competition but not sure if he can leave his business in the middle of March. Sounds like fun though, we will see what happens!

Thanks,

On a loaded style dyno there is not much difference based off the gear ratio. Running in 4th helps keep the roller speed down. The torque curve might look a little different but peak numbers would be within +/- %1 from cars we have experimented with in the past.
