Default AAM Competition UpRev tune on an 09 370z 7AT

Kevin B.
2009 Nissan 370Z 7AT
Before (with all mods untuned) - 307whp 253 ft lbs of torque
After (UpRev tune) - 317whp 266 ft lbs of torque

- AAM Competition Cold Air Intakes (R-Line Configuration)
- AAM Competition 2.5” High Flow Cats
- AAM Competition 2.5” True Dual Exhaust System
- Motordyne M370 Intake Manifold
- AAM Competition UpRev Dyno Tuning

Kevin’s baseline was done with all of the above parts installed on the factory tune, and the blue line is the result after the UpRev tune. His 370z is the first car to debut our unofficially released AAM Competition Cold Air Intake. The purpose of the tune is to extract the most “power under the curve” possible which calls for more readily available power. UpRev tunes are great for an overall power increase throughout the whole power band.

Nice! Any idea what the baseline was before all the mods? Still can't wait for the new mid pipe thing you guys are working on! Also have you noticed any sound change with the M370 intake manifold?

I only got to drive it from the shop back to work so far and I'm still stuck at work having a difficult time concentrating because I want to be out driving it around so badly. The only upgrade on initially was the exhaust but I had not had a dyno run with just the exhaust or prior when it was stock so unfortunately have no real idea what is was reading as stock.

However only driven it about 12 miles so far but that was a really fun 12 miles. I'll have to record a sound clip because it's music to my ears. I don't think I'll be listening to the stereo as much anymore, the car sounds so much better.

Alas as for the sound change with M370 all the upgrades other than the exhaust went on at the same time so I can't offer any input on that.

Thanks Khoi and everyone there. I'm sure this is a gonna be a blast to drive around some more.

Ok got a few while I was out tooling around a bit on saturday. Bear in mind I didn't wind out the gears except for once and it was only for about 3 seconds. These are just giving it some throttle during the merges just to give an idea of the sound. Wish I would have turned the stereo down, didn't think it would pick up the music but oh well....

for some reason the video doesn't seem as loud as when driving but you get the point. I dig it.

another short one:

left it in automatic, full throttle for a moment up to 80.

Still enjoying it immensely. You'd think the reverse would occur but now that it sounds and runs alot better it doesn't seem like I get any people trying to race me anymore? go figure. I think I probably won't be completely happy until i can get the bhp up to 400 on the button. However thats probably much easier said then done without FI. but it's probably just as expensive to squeeze out another 30bhp. I dunno. Gears may be a though but gonna put some new tires and see how everything feels.

Later.

Momentum headers would get you pretty close. Last I heard Z1 is in the process of making them for the 370.

+1 great reviews from the 370z crowd with Momentum shorty headers (discontinued) but I believe z1 should be coming out with their's shortly, I believe very similar or replicating Momentum, can't wait to see that piece out!

Why does the power fall so horribly after 7000 rpms?

m370 intake manifold. its too bad they dont have a before and after on the manifold. you pick up 8-10hp and 10+ torque from 2.2k to 7k but you lose a few after 7k.

well you can blame me for no before dyno numbers. I really didn't care what the gains were per say I just knew what I wanted installed and if the Tune didn't require the dyno I wouldn't have even cared to see the numbers to be honest. All I know is, it sounds like a sports car now, even with just the exhaust it sounded great but combined with the other mods even better. right now I think I'm overpowering my stock wheels until I get the new tread on there it's difficult to launch in 1st and maintain grip into 2nd so I haven't really been able to tell from say a flat 0-60mph, but I can tell you out the highway it no longer feels anemic which when stock at around starting at about 75-80 and gunning it does didn't feel like it had enough. Now, it obviously isn't a charger or camaro SS on the top end but it sure does alot more powerful in the highway speeds.

it's fast a hell anyway stock from 0-60 but i imagine it's better now if I can get traction but I'm most happy with it's overall sound and just more powerful feel throughout the powerband and espcecially up top where it felt like it needed. anyway thats my 2 cents.

here's an example of my problem going 1st gear starts spinning around 5500ish I think and into 2nd, when I glanced down I could see the VDC flashing pretty crazily. Yes I had it on... and oh yeah I was finally able to download the Torque sync agent so I could encode my video with any of the stats

5k miles since this work was done. No problems. Everything still smooth. I did add some new tires, still stock 18 inch rims but now 245/45/18 on the front and 275/40/18 on the rear. Traction is better, feels slightly more balanced in the corners. Still pretty happy. Can't wait to have the LSD installed hopefully before heading down to the strip.

Khoi, which gear are the dyno's being ran in?

I'm assuming 4th as he would hit the top speed gov before the rev limiter in 5th...
