Those are solid numbers on a Mustang dyno, nice job!

This is a stock motor car with our Stage 2 turbos and bolt-ons. John tends to stop pushing these cars at 600 - 615 on our dyno due to the rods on the GTR. They bend and eventually fail. He is going to do a 3.8L Cosworth motor At that time we will turn up the boost on the Stage 3 turbo kit(GT35R). Here is a rough mod list:

Akuma Stage 2 turbos...71mm billet wheel, GT28 bual ball bearing CHRA
Akuma IC Pipe Kit
Akuma BM Intakes
Akuma SD Cobb Tune on 93 Octane
Cobb DP
Akuma Mid pipe
HKS Cat back
FIC 1100 Inj
ETS FMIC Core
Dodson Sportsman Complete Clutch Assy

No the GT28 is efficient far beyond 14 PSI. The reason we use an extended tip, 7 blade, billet wheel, is it can extend the efficiency of the turbo. You can run these turbos up to 25PSI effectively. Keep in mind the GTR is essentially 2, 3 cylinder motors. This car will easily run 9sec 1/4 mile passes with the right fuel and higher boost levels.

I personally feel these turbos work very well at 22 -23 PSI with supporting mods.

We will keep the community updated with this car and the Z projects we have going very soon.

Thanks for all of the support!

John

I am not sure. I think that may be a little too high for those. I think you should be in the 19 - 21PSI range. It will also depend on the IC Core, and fuel system. You would need to see temps before and after the core. If the turbos are in the higher flow area, a good core can help lower the charge temp and give you a little extra.

Out compressor side aero is what allows us to run more aggressive boost. It basically extends the comp map, very similar to the Garrett GTX 11 blade benefits.
