Best Uprev Tuner in the Southeast

Anyone have any opnions on who is the best Uprev tuner in the southeast? I live in TN and am looking for the best tuner in my area. I saw the list of Uprev tuners and Crawford Z here in TN and Z1 Motorsports in GA. I was just wondering if anyone had any expereince with Uprev tuners in the southeast.

I got my tune done at Z1 by Jon. Great guy n awesome shop. Drive all the way from Miami to get my ride tuned there and I'd do it all over again.

Thanks for the feedback. How much were you charged and how much time did you get on the dyno? Was it the normal $500 for the uprev tune? If you dont mind me asking what are your mods and what kinda numbers did you put down?

elperuano 10-21-2012 07:25 PM

I believe it was 450. I was on the dyno for like 3-5 hours. I can't remember cuz I drove thru all night and I let Jon do his thing while I passed out on the couch. The guys at Z1 r stand up guys n I'd recommend them to anyone. I'm running a stage 2 Gtm TT set-up. Put down 534hp and 496 torque.

Jon and Z1 are the best VQ tuner company I've had the pleasure of doing business with.

After reading this thread I called Z1 and john qouted me $595 for a tune.. Is it me or does that sound a bit much for just a tune on a NA car??? Does anybody know any other decent place to get a good tune???

joshs09slvrZ 10-29-2012 07:13 AM

I had a guy down here in Tampa tune my NA car for just over $500. He tunes for a performance shop here in Tampa, but he offered to do mine on the side on a Dynojet.

That's what I paid for my NA tune from a shop in Tampa back in 2010. $500-600 is the going rate for an UpRev tune since the license alone is $300.

I believe he's through Z Fever. I went directly through the tuner though; not the shop.

The guy who tuned my car was Martin.

Mr&Mrs 10-29-2012 11:03 AM

Ya Martin is doing all the tuning.

Martin rocks!

Glokwork 11-04-2012 01:39 PM

CIN Motorsports in Charlotte, NC!!

Did this last Oct when I was NA and picked up 32whp from the tune alone for $500 flat

The reason I still quote $595 is due to the time I take tuning and I will also be tuning the VVEL. Like Michael stated the tune goes on for about 2-3hrs with what I believe to be more care than any other tuner takes in the SE area.

why does everyone expect businesses to give their time away for nothing?

For a $600 tune that takes 15 minutes, I'd be VERY upset...oh wait, that sounds familiar :stirthepot:

On the other hand, John@Z1 spent hours on my tune and it was worth every penny! I even convinced a friend with a TT G37 in Tampa to take the day off and drive up to Georgia to give John a visit and get his car tuned. Over a year later, he's still very happy with the tune.

I've dealt with MANY shops over the years, especially considering I worked for one back in 2007. Z1 is hands down the best shop I've ever dealt with.

Mike 11-06-2012 12:59 PM

I think my car was on the dyno for about 6 hours this last retune. I know they did more than 50 runs. I think I had a little over half a tank when I dropped it off, and it was empty after the tuning!

You have a PM coming.

elperuano 11-06-2012 02:01 PM

Like I said earlier meng, Jon @ Z1 is top notch. G37 Gtm stage 2 TT, drove all the way from Florida to Z1. Soon as I got there I explained how far I had just driven and he was like whooaaa thas far. Why don't u just sit back on the couch and get some sleep(went with wifey also and she wanted to sleep as well). Hooked me up on one of the big couches and watched TV til I passed out. They woke me up to tell me my boost controller was acting up and I thought that was gonna be a problem but they took care of it. After some sleep I checked on progress and everything was great. Saw some pulls and every other one was making more power. They even offered to get me lunch. Afterwards I drove across Atlanta to the east side and then back home to Florida with ZERO issues. Tune is awesome and I couldn't be happier and I street race the car a lot. Everytime I turn the car on it sees full boost. No codes thrown, no problems whatsoever after 4k miles and some long distance trips. Dude made sure before I left everythin was great!
I'll say the only thing I dislike about Z1 is their location! Wish they were closer to me! 8-9 hour drive suuuucks!

We are located near uptown Charlotte, NC. We have been doing Z tuning for several years now between the old accessports and now UPRev. If you would like to discuss our tuning method and experience and see if we are the right shop for you, you can reach us at 704-527-0100. We have some of our previous results posted in the tuning section on this site.

Lots of great tuners in the Southeast region to choose from!
