UpRev at RT Tuning
I had Vince at RT Tuning do the UpRev tuning yesterday on my Nismo. Vince did the usual stuff. Reset the the RPM limiter to 7,800, top speed to 200 mph, smooth out the A/F ratio, ignition timing, idle speed raised to 800 rpm, radiator fan setting, changed the throttle response setting, got the standard 5 maps. My HP is now 320, and my torque is 269 on his Dyno Jet.
I had to drive from Pittsburgh to Philly, and back yesterday to get this done. On the way out. I got 24.2 mpg. On the way home. It was 26.6 mpg. The car has no flat spots in the curve now. Feels really good on throttle reponse. Overall, I'm very happy. Thanks Vince. Oh, by the way. you still own me breakfast. LOL Click on picture for the video. My camera does not do justice to the sound.

its definitely a smoother curve....but I'm shocked you only gained 2 HP? I've seen results anywhere between 5-15 hp pretty consistantly?
Were you tuned prior? 320 does seem like a good number.... |

Before mods and tuning. My base was 283HP and 230 Tor.

After driving the Nismo for the last 10 days after getting it tuned. I have to say it was worth it. Driveability is smoother. Throttle respond is greater. Gas mileage is up. Fun factor is off the map. Thanks Vince and RT Tuning.

Its not that matter of max HP. Look out how much was gained throughout the entire curve. THat is what makes a good tune not adding 15 unusable HP at 7200rpms. Anyways great looking tune. The boys at R/T sure do make good numbers. Money well spent!

Can't belive I missed this thread! Vince tuned my 350 awhile back(spring 2011 I think..damn my memory is going), and got only about 4 hp, but that is max power, correct me if I am wrong but the max on Rusty's is on that little spike at the top of the base curve, he got more hp than that if you disregard the spike, and power at that point in the curve, who cares. There is a nice increase in mid range tq. I only got 4 hp on my 350, but where the crossover point was at 5500, there was a 14 hp increase on the graph, that you could feel. I plan on getting my flywheel in the spring then it will be a trip out to R/T again for the 370!

Mine was raised from 155 to 199. It's not enough as I can peg it.
Out of the back of a C130 at 45,000ft.

There is more power than that 2whp improvement shows. There is a spike in the untuned numbers. Regardless, looking at just the numbers, your only looking at a single point on the dyno sheet. You can see he is making the same amount of power at 8000rpm as he did at 7500 untuned. His ECU did a hell of a job keeping things in check and all the tune really did is reduce the safety margin between what the stock ECU thinks is okay and what the tuner deemed okay. 38whp improvement over his stock dyno may not sound like a lot, but the 39lbft improvement in torque is awesome. I've never seen tq outpace whp on a per mod basis with the 370Z. CG's on the numbers.
