Default Tuning - No increase?

So i have the following mods: Stillen G2 intakes, FI res test pipes and invidia gemini CAT back exhaust. I went to get tuning done on recommendation from a friend and after about 7 hours worth of a wasted Saturday he was unable to make any power at all. He called Uprev and they told him "it's possible to not make power on these cars. It's pretty much hit and miss."

The car is running rich (i can smell it and the readings from the o2's confirmed that) which means i'm losing power to begin with just based on that alone yet he couldnt produce any gains?

My baseline with mods (no tuning) was 306whp. I'm expecting to be in the 320's with tuning or at least close to it. Am I losing my mind or shouldn't I be making some power after tuning???

P.S. now i need to go somewhere else to get tuning done an hope to make power without wasting my money.

So yout still made 306WHP? Not sure what you are saying. I made 1.5 WHP up top when I got tuned but made 18-22+in the mid range. What where you numbers before and after and what where your tuned A/F's?

You should see an increase in power after a tune with those mods...

Here's my chart

You should see more torque in the mid range but overall hp gains will be minimal from the automatic gains from the bolt ons. 306WHP is pertty good for what you have. The tune is only going to make the car more driveable with useable torques and removed rev limiters and WOT. Don't expect 20 hp out of the tune alone... these cars are very well tuned to begin with. Clean up your AFR's and you will be good to go. UpRev DOES make a huge difference but it will not throw extra buckets of HP at you! lol

I made 306 whp with my mods and no tuning (before) made the same after tuning so no increase.

Yeah right now i dont feel any difference at all and i have a pretty sensitive butt-dyno.

when he tried to get my air/fuels in range i actually lost power. When he added fuel to make it run rich I gained power. WTF?

My air/fuels are around 11.5. It should be around 12.5 from my understanding which means there is room to make power in tuning.

OK so same as me, I made 296, Then 25 mins later tuned it the car and made 298. But all my gains where in the mid range. Maybe a tuner Error issue? Where did you go?

Definitely an issue with the quality of tuner.... buy a canned tune from Specialty Z and Sebz...

I'd rather not say until i get it tuned somewhere else and see the results. If i go somewhere else and get results then I'll warn everyone lol.

If these were runs on a dynojet, see if you can get the actual datafiles from the shop (i.e., the drf's).

If you can, email them to me, and I can make detailed charts to see what's going on.

I think 306 is pretty awesome for your mods, you probably didnt need one to begin with. A dyno shop here in Houston told me you only need to tune if you change the diameter of the MAF tubes which most intakes do not.

I made zero HP but the drive-ability was much improved and the mid range was a bit fatter.

What was the dyno?

Does the G2 change the diameter of the pipe where the MAF is installed? That can throw off air/fuel readings but UpRev has a place to enter a correction for that.

The GEN II intakes are the same as the GEN III piping, just shorter.

Need to see the dyno!!
