Default Motion Lab Tuned 2010 Stillen Stage2 370z 420whp/325wtq

Shop: Motion Lab Tuning
Dyno Type: Mustang 2WD
Boost: 9PSI
Fuel: 93OCT
Target AFR: 11.5:1
SAE Corrections: Default Corrections
Peak HP at RPM: 420whp @ 7500 RPMs
Peak Torque at RPM: 325wtq @ 6000 RPMs
Transmission: Stock 6speed
Gear: 4th
Engine Management: UpRev Osiris tuning suite
Engine/Power Modifications:
  • ARK DT-S catback exhaust
  • Catless test pipes (installing BERK HFC shortly)
  • Stillen intercooled Supercharger kit w/ stage2 pulley upgrade

This is a beautiful 2010 Pearl White sitting on some Volk TE37 wheels. Car looks great with just the subtle changes he has made. The exhaust system sounds great, and at the time of this tune he was running catless test pipes. He had one of them crack on him unfortunately so we have some BERK HFC on order. Stay tuned for an updated graph. This graph shows how the car turned out with the mods listed above. Very smooth powerband and great response from the supercharger kit.

Final HP/TQ:

Final Boost/AFR:

Here's some eye candy to go with the dyno plots.

Hanging with some other JDM goodies.

Thanks for looking!

Nice... however I still dont understand how people fork out so much cash for a pretty small IMO bump in power.. not trying to bash just dont see why anyone would wanna SC their VQ...

This picked up 120WHP over factory. I believe the kit was around ~$9000 total if I'm not mistaken. He did have the blower on the car already when he moved down from NY.

I do like the headroom a nice twin turbo set-up gives you over this blower set-up. Much easier to grow.

Thanks for the input, the auto trans always sucks up a little more no doubt. You made pretty darn good power for an auto and AWD! When referring to "Stage 2" with this kit, I am talking about the smaller pulley Stillen offers to increase the boost. The kits target boost was 11PSI, but with the free flowing exhaust he lost some back pressure which translated to a small loss in boost pressure.

Thanks,
Alex Goodwin

HMM so you have the blk pulley? I was asking them about that( NEVER CALLED ME BACK) LOL par for the course I guess. I'm running the silver pulley 8 PSI but I see 9PSI, I have the pulley upgrades( Vortech), and supporting mods sitting at my dealer waiting for my SC to come back from Stillen, When I get it back I should see 11-12 PSI and hope to close to 480WHP.

Your right about the auto the only complaint I have is off the line is not as agressive as I think it should be with 300 WTRQ,

To bump a mildly old thread, this is my car.

I got the kit used for 4K so it made it a bit of a no brainer. I also wanted to make sure to retain the stock feel of the car that a SC is able to do whereas turbos really can't. Don't forget either that this was on a mustang dyno, on a higher reading dyno that people love to cite this would have been 450ish if not more, to bench race a little bit.

I have the 9PSI pulley combined with the 928 motorsports impeller but with the full exhaust I'm only seeing 9PSI at red line. I replaced the ART pipes with Berk HFCs and am hoping for at least 1PSI increase of boost but I'm waiting on Motion Lab to get moved into the new building and situated so I can get a retune.

Edited to add: I'll be the first to admit, now that I've gotten a taste of the boost I want a TT kit BADLY, finances are the only thing holding me back

Really , Only 9PSI @ redline, You might wanna put the stock cats back on, I have them and I see 10 sometimes at redline and that was on their 8PSI pully?. I expect to see 13PSI when I get the car back together with the cod set up and upgraded the SC from SCI trim to SI trim,

I'm on Berk HFCs now and have yet to even take it to redline to see what pressure it hits, I'll be sure to update the thread once I see that result. I have no intention of returning to stock cats.

I don't understand why people recommend putting stock parts back on because they haven't reached full boost from the kit. Look at the amount of power it's making per psi. 420whp from a stillen kit, on a mustang dyno, and at 9 psi is nothing to sneeze at, that is pretty stout. If I were looking for bigger number than that, I surely wouldn't be running a supercharger, I would be looking at a turbo setup. Especially on a stock bottom end. I'm no expert, or mechanic, but a lot of reading and the Google tells me, do what is already known, and it will save you a lot of money, time, and headaches.

Now I'm not saying, don't try anything new, I'll be the first one to sticky, just make sure you do what your wallet and pride can handle :P

Yeah the car is making very good power for the amount of boost that, I agree. It will be interesting to see how the power changes with the super nice Berk Technologies HFC in place.

Thanks,
Alex Goodwin
