Talking Technosquare tune

I just had my ECU tuned by Technosquare today and according to my butt dyno, there is a difference lol! The car feels more responsive and more torque on the low end side. Before the tune the Z felt a little sluggish in the low end due to HFC. Now after the tune she feels more "alive" if you know what I mean?!

Also before the tune at WOT 2nd to 3rd, the Z would just squat. Now 2nd to 3rd breaks the tires free. I think this is due to my rev limit changed from 7500 to 8000. Now that I can rev the motor higher, when I shift to the next gear my rpms stay up around 5000. The higher the rpm, the more power. To an extent of course. I definately feel a difference! I'm glad I had it done. Of course once I get the Stillen S/C for the Z it would have to be retuned again, but who cares!!!

nice! I'd like to see how the tune tweaked with the power curve. Do you feel that the car hits peak power at a lower RPM with the tune?

Peak power is toward the high rpm range. Between 7000-8000. The car just pulls all through the rpm range if that's what you mean. Also it feels smoother all the way to 8000 rpm!

The graph of the power curve you seek is here: Technosquare ECU remap

Thanks

How aggressive is the tune? I skimmed over the thread and couldn't really find a clear answer. Any graph with the A/F ratio along side?

I have a graph of a single run after remap with A/F ratio. didn't scan it. It's not agressive (lean). The agressiveness is in the ignition advance. I think that info is proprietary. (from memory) The a/f runs similar to stock up to around 6,000 rpm. The re-map is around 12.5:1 at 3k rpm and 12.0 at 6k, then dips to around 11.8 at redline vs. the stock tune trending up to a little over 12.0 at redline. So it is rich to keep temperatures down and power increases coming from timing advance.

Nice job on the re-map. Looks like they got the A/F's right where you need them for best power...

Great article on A/F's here: Autospeed article

Just wondering if doing this tune would void my warranty? I'm assuming so.. but hoping not.

Anything you do to a car carries the possiblity and all likelyhood of voiding a warranty. The beauty of a reflashed ECU is that it's just that... a reflash that can be flashed back to stock at any time to retain that clever little thing Nissan calls a warranty!

I didn't want to put it in writing, but let's just say that if I have significant mechanical problems in the future that it may take a few days for my car to make it back to the dealer for repairs....

How's the throttle response below 3k rpm? I wonder if you can get more grunt on the low end. I'll have my exhaust and HFC, but I may keep the stock air boxes. Then anything else to lighten the load for more response like flywheel/clutch and pulley wouldn't have anything to do with ECU tune anyhow.
