mannyz was speaking of his own personal lack of knowledge. He was acknowledging that the other members have more experience/knowledge than him and that he was just trying to learn.

i was comparing the boosted cars to each other.
of course NA cars make less power per mod. it's the exhaust cams which can be switched out for more power. cams from all manufacturers are made for emissions mainly. go take a look at the BMW and Honda forums and see how much power those guys are making with swapping out the cams. with FI cars it's not uncommon to see upwards of 60whp increases with cams. hell with non turbo Z32's cams make a huge difference. |

Last Friday while on the dyno my car showed radical changes in fue/air from the last session. Could have been software related, could have been the gas? Dunno? But your taking a chance the car used for the baseline tune is identical to yours using the same fuel, etc. |

Its a good option if you have no alternative. True, it won't be optimum, but lots of people live in places where there are no competent dyno tuners, and they all come with the same tune out of the factory anyways, and its at least better than that one.
I will probably have mine dyno tuned though. I am pretty much finished with bolt ons, just need to recover from the $$$ the brembos I just bought cost me.
