Default Dyno Predictions for my upcoming mods?

Hey Z lovers!

I just ordered a bunch of bold on's, and will be doing an Uprev tune (at Z Shop Garage in San Jose Ca).

Anybody care to guess what my gains will be on my totally stock, manual, 09 sport? She currently has 27,500 miles or so, and previous owner was pretty easy on her as far as I can tell. So far she has only seen maintenance at the Nissan dealer in Santa Barbara where she used to live.

I will post my pre/post-mod dyno and test drive results as soon as the work is done!! As a bonus, I will also try to post pre/post exhaust note vids.

As exhaust note and throttle response/fun factor is too hard to quantify, I will be looking primarily at 3 measurable results:

a. whp
b. Tq
c. MPG at 65 mph (as read by trip computer reset at speed) (cruise controlled) on 10 mile stretch of hwy 880. (Currently 32.1) (about 2500rpm in 6th gear)

Here is the plan.

1. JWT Pop Charger. (intake)
2. Berk HFCs
3. Berk Cat Back Exhaust.
4. Uprev flash with Dyno tune at Z Car Garage.

*MY* (very uneducated) prediction is:
a. whp: 270 up to 303 (+33)(10% gain)
b. ft-lbs tq: 222 up to 223 perhaps? (+2)(10%gain)
c. MPG: 32 up to 35 (+3) (probably wishful thinking due to low rpm cruise.)

I used to drive (20 years ago) a '77 280z and loved it. By comparison this '09 370 is a spaceship. I have no idea what to expect from this tune but know it will be a fun journey and make the car feel like its "all mine"

Finally, (I know this is probably discussion for another thread but...) here are ALL my planned upgrades:

1. POP chargers (JWT)
2. HFC (berk)
3. CAT back exhaust (berk)
4. dyno tune (uprev)
5. sound dampening (Dynamat to be self installed)
6. Pulled steering lock CB (actually already done)
7. convex stick on side mirrors (also already done and sooooo much better)
7.5 (edit) locking nuts from dealer (also already installed...those 19' wheels are pretty sweet)
8. (most important of all!!!) 370z.com window sticker.

This is my DD. If anybody else has suggestions for MUST DO mods (like the steering lock and sound dampening) please chime in. I'm all ears and somewhat new to the forum.

Cheers.

Hey man great plan and you did your HW. Stock your going be 265ish whp and 220 WTRQ. Mods and tune will get you 290-306 WHP and 260 ish WTRQ. with you biggest bolt on gain being the HFVCs. I made 298 WHP AN 240 WTRQ with no HTC's but with stillen gen 3'S. I thunk if had the gen 3'S you'd be over. 310. Just my .02

Lol it is not going to cost 5000 to 7000!!. More like 3000 I started this thread as part of my excitement about heo bolt ons. I really don't care too much about the actual numerical gains more about the percentage of increase in performance (i wonder if it will be noticeable) and about the change in the driving experience.

Stay tuned... So to speak... For my results. I'm very exited.

Rob is an interesting and passionate guy. Its clearly going to be a lot of fun working with him. I've seen a Ton of positive feedback here and on yelp about his shop and it is nice to be working with a guy who seems as exited about the project as I am. I wish I knew him back when I was driving my '77 280z. (of course he was probably about 10 years old back then)

Might as well ask for the fan control mod.

You're gonna get +30 to 40 over stock after tune.

I will definitely ask for the fan mod! thanks for the input!!!

Also, I think I will (read from other threads) be able to set 5 maps????
something like:

1.stock (for dealer trips?)
2.tuned (for DD)
3.valet (just because that seems cool)
4.econ (I have no idea what this would do, but it sounds helpful on a road-trip)
5.Anti theft (my Z sits outside in a parking lot overnight quite often)

I wonder how "econ" would work and if it actually does anything more then put training wheels on my throttle curves. Perhaps it should be called "wife or buddy is driving my car today mode, or clutch saver mode.

Update!!
My parts are still on back order. (actually just the cat back) in the mean time I've been talking with my mech, and have decided to put in a JWT clutch and light weight flywheel. I don't know if this will effect power change, but I think will enhance drivability and throttle/acceleration.

Hope you dealer is smarter than mine is and got you the right locking lugnuts.
Here's the thread showing the difference.

actually i went to auto zone and got the wrong ones! i asked my tuner and he immediately pulled them off then it took me two weeks to find the right ones (I just ended ordering them from the dealer, and yes i showed him the CORRECT part number)

Thanks for warning me of the difference though, its an EASY mistake to make!

At long last my exhaust is in the shop. I will be putting my JWT clutch. Berk HFC and full cat back, dual pop chargers and my tune on over the next three days or so. I am TOTALLY amped. Photos and dynos to follow!!!
