Default Uprev Tuning Info

OK, after a search, I have found nothing in the tune section about self tuning. I have the softwere installed and can change parameters. Am I the only person with the Uprev Tuner Software? I would like to start a ROM share thread; what works and what dosen't. Please shoot me a PM if you are self tuning.

I was just thinking the same thing. Just had the car tuned and wanted to learn how I can enhance it with street tuning and data logging. Maybe we can get some people here with some uprev tuning experience.

If you have the tuner Ver open your Rom editor and load your Rom. That what all you can change.

OK, I uploaded a new tune today based on lean cruse/increased ignition timing. Results are very positive. 24.2 MPG before and 26.3 now. Indicated by onboard AVG fuel over a 100 mile city/hwy course. I will gather more data during the week and then post the ROM for referance.

Car runs just as before during accel, during lean cruse conditions the new map pulls fuel and adds timing.

Other changed made are
Removed top speed limit, I have no idea why but I did
Disabled codes to aft O2 sensors
Raised Redline to 7800 and the fuel cut restore points as well

I did not see one but It could be the cruse control interlock. If that is the case, you could try the ETC to off. See below

"ETC on/off: This setting disables the torque management aspects of the electronic throttle control. Turning this setting off will have the effect of making the throttle linier. The ECU will try to run the throttle plate % at whatever the accelerator % is.
** ETC on/off tuning tips: Turning this setting off will also disable the cruise control. Most of the feedback about disabling this setting is that the throttle is far too touchy, even for race drivers. Chances are you will never turn it off, but it is there if you’d like to try."

You could disable the switch but if you hit the brakes (cruse on) your cruse control would add power "VERY BAD"

Someone with an auto should know the answer....

Just a quick comment -- those of you looking to self tune, do you know some good basics on tuning fuel injected cars in general?

If not -- start with this: Amazon.com: Engine Management: Advanced Tuning (9781932494426): Greg Banish: Books

Really, really good book that walks you through it, theory and application step by step.

That, plus the uprev guides will be invaluable.

What differences are you seeing per map vs stock fuel mapping?

Stock is the #4 map. You can't look at the colors you have to look at the numbers.

Haha sorry, I should have worded my question more efficiently. With Maps 1,2, and 3 what performance differences are you seeing vs stock. I know you mentioned earlier better fuel consumption. Also have you noticed any differences in drivability?
