anyone set up a tune for race gas?
just something i had been wondering. seems like i have never heard of anyone running race gas on here to possibly bump na power closer to the magical 350whp mark that we have been searching for. im getting my car tuned on wednesday, and i was wondering if there was a way, using uprev, to have a street tune and a possible "race" tune, if u will (specifically for running race octanes). i mean if this could be an answer to getting some more hp then why not?
however, something in the back of my mind remembers hearing something a while ago about race gas being abrassive to stock fuel system components and engine (anything aluminum). Could be wrong with that one

If you have cruise control then yes, Uprev has the capability to run 5 maps, most people get some variation of the same tune ie power, economy, valet, etc, but they are completely independent so you could have them tuned for whatever you wanted.
I know a couple guys who did the C16 thing, all of them are FI tho. The only issue (unless you add a fuel cell) is that you have to drain the tank completely before you fill up with C16 or the tune's going to be off, probably not as serious with NA but I'm sure you'd be running much more aggressive timing, and if the C16 got diluted it might lead to detonation... All in all tho I really don't know how much extra HP you'd get on a stock motor, for the same cost you could pick up a motordyne M370 and have some gains every day on pump |

Church Automotive Testing programed a 100 octane race gas map. Haven't tried it out tho. Still on my first tank of gas after the tune. Might try to find some 100 octane somewhere here in Southern California for my next tank. ...or half a tank because of the ridiculous cost of race gas.

I've never tuned a 370z before, but from what i've read is that you either A, can't adjust the timing advance because it is advanced far enough even stock, and B, the tuners do not like adjusting this.
Racegas should help you with a leaner AFR and advanced timing. A leaner AFR would be cool, but it probably won't justify the cost of the gas. |

I know that this is an old thread...waking It back up to see if anyone has gotten anywhere with this....especially with EcuTek...I know that E85 is the new thing and is cheaper but not everyone has access to E85....As in my situation I have a lot more of a better chance getting my hands on a steady amount of VP MS109 than I ever will getting my hands on E85.
