So what determines if you can do this with your ECU? Someone said they couldnt?

If you have a the oil cooler set up like the DIY cooler. The ac fan will pull a constant draw of air through the oil cooler at dead stop.
Having the main cooling fan come on at a lower temp could help with cooling the oil better as well because the constant air draw through the cooler. With temps in the 90s here I have my ac on perpetually so my oil is always about 180 unless I start passing all the slow retards on the roads. I dont know if having PW is a good idea because nimrods on the road must think I am a cop. I find them with 10 cars between them pass them and the next guy the same thing. They slow way down below the speed limit. |

Just beat the piss out of my car on the same route I take home, with the same type of temps out and normal. I did local driving from GF's> highway for 8 miles>2 miles of local town driving with plenty of stop signs until I reached home (I like the scenic route home).
Just beating it as much as I safely can on the streets, keeping it in 2nd and 3rd gear mostly, downshifting frequently to 2nd. Normally, oil temps would be 220 immediately, timing would be retarded and loss of low-end power would be very noticeable. With the adjustment done, oil temps remained 180-190, no feeling of timing pull, and hardly any feeling of power loss. Car felt fantastic and zippy all the way through the town, which is normally where it just feels flat. There was no sun out, but weather was in the 60s. We'll see how it performs under hotter conditions as they come - but I am very confident in this mod. |
Seb - I noticed this in UpRev last time I reflashed my car a couple weeks ago, it's there in the regular Tuner version as well (not just Pro). I turned everything up to 100% sooner of course, and it helped. What I'm wondering about: mine had the data columns for 214/217/221 like your factory image - how did you get the columns to switch to lower temps (your second image: 192/196/205?).

Jon is working on it for me too Frank, hoping for the best.
