My bet is they do automatically adjust.

I'd like to know how much timing is in a stock Z tune. I've heard 23° at WOT. I've got some tools at home I'll hook up to confirm when I get time.

On 93 octane, 23° of timing and a 12.5-12.8:1 AFR would be a pretty spicy tune.

They will adjust for timing but only up o the values in the ROM. If you want it to run higher timing with 93 octane u need to raise those values and the ECU will adapt up to them. Since the Z's are tuned for 91 octane from the factory raising the values for 93 octane allows you to maximize it.

Damn, yall are a bit of a drive for me too. Is the Tuning something that can be done in 1 day, or would you need some more time?

Also, would you guys happen to be a licensed vehicle inspection station for registration purposes? :icon08:

I need a 'mod-friendly' inspection station to get my headers through for now till I can get my cats shipped to me. :icon17:

shop around for sure since that one shop sounds like they are trying to screw you over. i've heard good things about AAM.

you're lucky though. i got no tuners around me that i've read about doing 370z's or GT-R's. closest actual uprev tuner is about 4 hours in ohio or 5 hours in philly that r/t tune i believe was it.

Where in Ohio were are you talking about? I may be in need of a tune within the next year or so and had yet to hear of a tuner that was actually recommended.

That makes sense.

Any idea how much timing is in the stock Z tune?

there's a tuner that is listed on uprev's website called slowmotion motorsports. they are located just north of Columbus.

http://slowmotionmotorsports.com/

address is right on the website. they are like 3 1/2 hours from me in Pittsburgh.
