UpRev!!!!
Finally getting my UpRev Tune done this Wed. I'm more excited than a kid on xmas!!!!! Anyone have any tips or questions I should ask. It's 550.00 for 5 maps and dyno and license.
Well the one thing I wish I did was have my tuned map, and my stock map. I'm not sure if you can do that or not. My tuned map is for 94 octane gas so the stock map would be great if I can only find 91 octane.
Also add a valet mode. That's all you really need. Have fun! |
valet/theft mode
I had valet,stock,93 octane, and theft.
whats the theft/valet mode do?
Theft mode will basically not let your engine start, it'll just keep trying to crank over. Valet mode is up to 2500 rpm and 25 mph max.
Ok thanks

How quick is it to change between maps? If simple and easy I'd do this everytime i go to party or park my car outside. |
They say it takes just a few minutes.
Sorry about this question, but what's a map? The only thing I can think of is Mean Arterial Pressure, since I am in the medical field. Please fill me in.
Map basically equals new software for your ECU(your cars brains). Different maps change how your car responds more speed, power, torque, mpg etc can be changed and perfected for the perfect fit to your car and driving habits.
How do you change between the maps? Is there'd a screen that comes with the tune? Or can you hook up your phone to it? That would be awesome!

Interesting. What other maps that are available?
On my last car (Cobalt SS) I was able to turn my tune on and off with a push of a button and it would change instantly. Is this possible on the 370 or not? Thanks
Well if you get a custom tune ie they use a dyno then you can pretty much have whatever you want. Set you car for 93 octane power, remove the speed limiter, raise your RPM's, increase throttle response etc. You can have a theft/valet mode as talked about above, high mpg mode, stock mode. Its pretty much a small hand held computer that you use to flash the maps, when you by UpRev(Osiris Tune) you will get it. I am using HP Logic in WPB to set me up and create custom maps.

:wtf2:
So you have to have a tuner plugged in and load each map when you want them?

Ok Guys attached is the Mustang Dyno Chart....

Nice! Was this pull done in 4th gear?
Not to hijack the thread, but I'm thinking about getting this done, but I don't have any bolt ons yet. Would it be good to go ahead and tune it and enjoy the better mileage, then retune when I get the mods? Or would it be better to mod (cai, cbe, lth and hfc) and then get the uprev? And why?

You'll definitely benefit more from getting the tune after your mods. If money is not an issue to get it retuned later, then go ahead and do it now. I'd personally save the $300 or so and do it after my bolt-ons are on though.
I think it depends on how long its going to be till you get all the mods. If its going to be a while I'd go ahead and get the tune first, then just get it tweaked later on. Up here the protuner only charges $160 to update the tune for new mods, and you're going to enjoy it the whole time, in addition to better gas mileage, responsiveness, cleaner burning engine, less wear on the spark plugs, etc.
If you like tinkering yourself pick up that tuner version that the guys selling in the classifieds for 600, have the protuner do a dyno tune for 300 or so (you'd only need the dyno time since the tuner version comes with the license) and then just go back into the tune and adjust the A/F yourself after you got more mods. winning all around |
