Please help need advice on tuning
Hey guys I'm in the last stage of installing my mods so I'll be needing a tune as soon as I'm done, my set up will be amuse stti exhaust, motordyne xyz pipe, fast intentions LTH, motordyne intake manifold and TS intake.
So I was looking to get an up rev tune when I'm done installing these parts, problem is that I don't feel that there are capable tuners in Bahrain, so what can I do now, has anyone tried tuning uprev by dealing with uprev them selfs, uprev tuning there cars by sending tunes via email? And if so how fast do uprev reply to the emails and update your tunes please people who have tried this way chime in. I also noticed something that we don't have on this forum and wondering if there is a vendor that does tunes where I send them my car info they tune and email the tune to me I haven noticed that being done here. Any input that you guys have for me will be much appreciated.:tiphat: |
another help required: how we can get the ECU part No. from the Ecu Reader?
I hooked up my Innova to my OBD2 but i couldnt find the ECU Part No.! |
yes please anyone with any input what so ever please chime in, i emailed uprev directly asking them a bunch of questions i needed to be answered with regards to e-tune etc and there reply was not helpful what so ever, all they did was provide me to a link to the orsis hand held tuner, please guys need your help as im going to be installing the LTH soon and need the car to be tuned asap.

Try calling them directly. It is my understanding that you can send them data from a Cipher device (obd2 type of cable) with your mods and they will email you an etune. Sharif at forged performance travels to Kuwait to do tunes (i think) perhaps he can help you but that might be expensive!

I purchased the Uprev package from their site that comes with the cable and 3 free etunes. The base tune they sent with the cable was just ok, and I had two e-tunes done after that which made a noticeable improvement. From the time I sent the files for the etunes, to the time I got the new tune file back, was about a week both times. Not bad.
As to finding your ECU part number, I just called the dealership I bought the car at and they read it to me over the phone. Hope this helps. EDIT: If you get this and have any further questions about the software or datalogging for the etunes, just PM me. It is actually quite simple. |
when uprev resend the e-tune, can you tell them to improve it by maybe making it more aggressive etc, or is it just a standard e-tune?

The first base map they sent you with the package, did they consider your mods or just a base tune that include Wide Open throttle in any speed, RPM Limiter, Speed limiter etc .....? |

The tune will set the optimum AFR targets based on the data you log, as well as change things like removing the speed limiter, changing the redline, changing the idle speed. On the UpRev website you can see all the options you have for the tuning they do. |

Yes, it took about 10 minutes to load the program and maps in. The first map was a generic tuned map based on a 370Z tune they did in house that had similar mods to what I had. Until they get the data logs for your specific car that's about the best you can hope for. Should still loosely improve your AFR's. |
thanx man, this is wat i wanted to hear.
i think i will mostly purchase it online AND DO IT Alone. |

Checked out the uprev website there are many items on it just wanted to make sure what do I need to purchase exactly from the store for an onlin e tune from what I understood I need to purchase the orisi reader and cable 500$ do I also have to purchase the 50$ e tune or that comes with the 500$ reader already?
|
The $500 package comes with 3 free etunes.

some tuners offer a live tuning session via internet, just rent some dyno time and they can remote into your computer and tunr your car on the fly.
Jared at Uprev did some modifying on my uprev software like this when i was removing my tune from the 350z. Hal @dynosty was the original tuner, he is a pretty good guy to deal with, very knowledgable. |
Oh thank you, do the still provide this kind of tuning for the 370z? Because I have yet to hear anyone on the 370z forum use that kind of method
