Going back on 2 dyno tomorrow (Dynapack & Dynojet)
28 Nov UPDATE
read post #7 tomorrow I'm going for the first time since I got my flywheel and blown transmission replaced under warranty I had ign timing problem for the past year and never been able to see why the ECU was always pulling timing every time at the same RPM (long story) The dynapack where i use to go read apparently a few % lower than a dynojet and the best I could get with all of my mod was 311whp my baseline on that same dyno was 256whp the graph in the picture was a comparison from the OEM Tb and my oversized TB ... I did gained most of the lost power later on during the year but The ECU was getting upset everything and still pulling timing so now the ECU doesn't seem to be as upset as it was for the past year , the Ign timing is right where it use to be from the log I made in the summer 2010. I'm wondering where the power is gonna be !! mod are as follow ; 7 AT tranny !!! Custom oversized CAI & Maf Oversized Throttle body HR intake manifold PPE step long tube header Custom X-pipe Custom exhaust/muffler Uprev Last edited by Megan370z; 11-28-2011 at 07:51 PM. |

Im interested to see how all of your custom pieces work with making power for sure. Can you give a low down on what was causing your ing. problem. Is it something the rest of us should check into?

Once I got the car back from the dealership after the tranny broke down , I went for a ride to check if by miracle the ign timing would be alright which it does ! I'm going to see Sasha this afternoon since I always went on his dyno |

Update !!!
it was a long day of driving and the result if almost to where I was hopping to be .. not perfect but fine for now ! =========================================== Sg-motorsport is where I always went after almost every mods ! Baseline on that same dyno at around 60F was 256 whp Today @ +- 50F = 324 whp a gain of 68 whp THe Z is a 7At so even less power than a 6MT ,, Im wondering what would be the result in a 6MT car ! hehe the picture show the last time I went on the dyno fully tuned but with a cracked flywheel. It was upseting the knock sensor which were pulling Ign timing everywhere ,,, I had no control and spend nearly a complete year to figure out what was going on ,, almost traded the Z for an EVO X. the rumor about SG-Motorsport dynapack was it read a few % lower than a Dynojet , today was a good comparaison between them. Even Sasha was a bit suprise by the result. I made 2 print in STD & SAE for those who wish to see the difference ! first one in STD second one in SAE |

I'd be concerned with the power falling a bit at redline. The majority of the cars I have seen (mine included) with gen3's (or similar cai) all make power past 7500rpm, where yours seems to fall flat and die a bit. Just comparing to my dyno, with less mods, my car is pulling pretty much all the way to 8k.
I would think with your cai and headers that wouldn't be an issue. Could it be a tuning issue maybe?

the dyno run were done up to 7700-7800rpm ... knowing the fact about the runner length will affect the power at the top end . im not too worry right now because yes the car still need to be fine tuned for sure. I spend 1 hour on the dynojet first and did most of the quick tuning to have a more stable powerband I got the car back from the dealership with all of the intake system replaced with the OEM parts and Stock Rom back in the ECU During that time my HD crashed , I had to redo everything from scrach. the most important is I found the problem which I had for almost a year !!! The only thing I noticed was your tq #'s seem to be a little low, besides that it seems all your custom work has paid off. My car did not continue to gain horsepower aswell all the way to redline. My max hp was at about 7,200. The tuners at CIN motorsports told me my exhaust was the culprit (stock nismo exhaust). BTw your custom intake is awesome looking!!!
