The problem for me is I autocross, and we often have to move the car through some rapid-fire elements which require coordination of steering and throttle. The delay in throttle response on lift, makes this much more difficult and inconsistent.

I'm fine with the way things go as the pedal is going down, but I'd like it to follow my movements on the way back up a lot better. Do these throttle maps influence this at all?

Rev-hang is there for ease of shifting. Do you notice at what RPM it tends to shoot up or hangs for half a second? We can always experiment with the throttle map. We might not eliminate it , but we maybe can reduce it. That is why Wstar created this thread.
What RPM you normally find yourself having this delay issue? We can always tweak it!

Maybe try the Power Map and see if it lessens It.

ETC - "OFF" on Cipher.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered - but does ETC off definitely fix this? And what else does it change about the way the car behaves in a performance setting? I figure I can have one map set with it off. In autocross we don't shift much if ever - we putt around in second gear. The throttle lifts I do could be anywhere from 3500 to 7500 rpm.

ETC off is a global thing, you can't have it per map AFAIK. It will turn off synchro rev too if you care about it.

bleunetizen is right, ETC " Off " is Global setting, which means it will disable your ETC torque management setting in all your 5 Maps setting.

I can live without rev match if it means the throttles close when I lift. Only concern is what it will do to throttle application behavior.
Is it possible to wire up some kind of external switch for ESC?
Any feedback from anyone that has roadraced or autocrossed a 370 with it off?

It will be % ECU(throttle plate opening) = % Pedal travel. Might not be smooth enough , but how would you know without trying it?

doesnt the ETC make the drive like cable throttle and not electric ? If so sign me up also.

I hope to have AWGD8's power map loaded in today and tested tomorrow AM when it not raining.

It appears that majority of members here who tried ETC "OFF " did not work for them. I tried that on my Infiniti EX35 crossover and I hated it! It works on a Manual Tranny though....

Just would like to remind that Wstar Original Throttle MAP was designed for Autocross.
That is why he called his MAP Smooth/Linear. The reason why he created his is to make the throttle predicatable. If we put the cars power or response base from Low-Mid-high RPM the transition of power from each ranges is seemless. If I put it in number it is like this.

See the distance from each number? This is linear so the throttle can be controlled evenly without disturbing the suspensions balance.
So to compare Wstar vs my Map is unfair to him. I did not make my MAP for autocross, but for Drag race or more street tuned. If i have to put it in number it looks like this

1***2*3*4*5*6*7**8***9***10

I could tweak this a lot better and more precise if I can only have a G37 tune file to work with. My throttle maps came from EX35 crossover siimilar to VQ35HR engine. Some members says my throttle improved their car's response some did not feel a thing. As I said it again, I can be more precise if I can get hands of a G37 tune file that I can experiment. And if my MAP is being used for entertainement purpose and seems to be working for you. Pls. let me know so I can develop it further...

Just ran the "power map" on my bolted G37x sedan over the weekend and relly liked it !
car pulled hard and the throttle seemed a bit more responsive.

Good to hear you like it! Is the pedal response subtle vs the stock or you could feel a big difference? The torque (at the right gear) should come at less than 1/3rd pedal push.

What RPM do you feel the pedal gets tighter(harder) where the torque seems to start? Another member with a 370z says his was at 2.2K RPM. But I think he tried AWGD8-MAP2 (On my previous post #297 page 20 ) PLs. See post below.

Now you just need to remove Etune password.... =)
