you said yourself, "you understand all dyno's read differently"....that's the reason right there, nothing else to think about
a dyno is a tool, relative unto itself and nothing else just like one torque wrench set to 80 ft/lbs may yeild a slightly different result than another brand torque wrench set to 80 ft/lbs, dyno's have variances for a myriad of reasons instead of worrying why your car is 'missing' some arbitrary amount of power, take it as a starting point - you now have your baseline on that particular dyno location. As you mod, use the place again to see how your power changes |
