UpRev tune on Mustang dyno with exhaust and intake.
Well I've been going back and forth between getting a tune or not and my girlfriend and I are about to head up to NY next week so I figured that I need to make sure the car is up to snuff so I headed to HP Logic to see Jack. Great guy to deal with and very knowledgeable as far as I can tell.
Mods: Stillen Gen3 intake Motordyne ART Pipes HKS Hi Power Ti exhaust On my journey over to West Palm Beach the Service Engine Soon light came on (389 miles after installing the Motordyne ART pipes) so I was glad it was getting tuned. I arrive at HP Logic around 9:30 and they open at 10am. I wanted to get the best weather possible(for this time of year). Jack and I talked before he began about the weather and he expected the car to hit 280-285ish because it was 90-95deg outside and 75% humidity. I, of course wanted 300whp but being as though it's a mustang dyno we all know they're 20hp short of a dynojet so 300 would just be a goal and might not be reality. So Jack makes two runs before adjustments and tells me we're at 290whp:tup: Cool! He makes 3-4 runs and was able to pull out 296whp, then lets the car cool. Eventually he popped the hood to cool down the car and let it sit for a few minutes and made 2-3 more runs and was able to grab 298whp!:driving: I've got 4 maps loaded into the car. (93 octane, Valet, Immobilizer, Stock) Not too shabby for a Mustang Dyno with just intake and exhaust only. He assured me that my car would hit 310ish if the weather was better and closer to 330whp on a dynojet, so I'm stoked!:tiphat: The drive home sucked. I wasn't able to feel the car out much because it was pouring. Hopefully tonight I'll get a chance. Over the next month I should have pulleys and a lightweight clutch/flywheel combo to help as well. My scanner is not working so here is a photo of the graph. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...1/IMG_6893.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...1/IMG_6874.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...1/IMG_6872.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...01/photo-2.jpg |

Cool! Let us know what differences you notice post-tune when you get a chance to open her up.
|
youre going to love the tune...acceleration feels much more responsive after

I do love the tune. Just got back from the movies with the gf and got a chance to play. It's a night and day difference!
No more sluggish feeling at all. Definitely worth the money. |
My question is...how come you only got 4 maps and not 5?
|
What gear did you make your pulls in?
|
what was your 5th map...
i have a track map with higher red line, reg every day map, valet, imobilizer ,, no need for any more than that... |

Hi.
So what codes did you throw? Did the SES go away after the tune due to correcting the AFR or did the tuner disable the sensor? I'm having a SES too. 2 weeks away from a tune. |

Thanks for coming in!...it was a pleasure to work with you.....
to answer a few questions.... Pulls are made in 4th gear..... ....and the 4 maps are all that are needed in my opinion....our map is 91 octane safe as well. AFR's are in the 12.5-13.0 range depending on RPM and fuel conditions.... and the SES that was triggered was P0420/P0430 ....they are activaed from the cats being less efficient or missing. -Jack .... |
Definitely recommending you to others. Car feels amazing!
Thanks again Jack! |
I have invidia cbe berk test pipes k&n intake and the m370 intake manifold and in a mustang dyno I took 286whp in a 7AT what do you think? Its poor for the mods or it can be because is AT?

12.6-12.8 is the sweet spot for the VQ37 when naturally aspirated. Just so you know, 10.5 is hideously rich for a N/A motor. You're blowing clouds of gasoline out your tail pipes. If you still have cats, you're getting those puppies up to some serious temps by blowing that much fuel into them. They'll burn out pretty fast at that rate, if they don't fail outright from overheating. Edit: That said, if your car only feels like it's running right @ 10.5, you should probably do some logging and figure out what is going on. If the car is pulling a lot of timing @ 12.5+ you might have something very, very wrong with your engine. |
