Default My Z's Dyno Results

Hi guys,

Just wanted to share my dyno results.. I took my Z to the dyno yesterday morning..

It was a rainy morning, I live in a tropical country so it's a very humid place, temperature was around 80°F-82°F..

Mods that impact performance:
- Stillen Gen3 Intakes
- Berk HFC's
- Stillen CBE
- Stillen LW Crank Pulley
- UR LW Alternator Pulley

No tuning has been done yet and sadly I don't have a baseline..

What do you guys think?

On par with the power I should be seeing with these mods?

Thats about right for the mods you have done, what type of dyno was it Mustang/Dynamics/DynoPack the different models will give you different results.

298 is low for a dynojet. But then again all dynos are different. However, +17 hp gain from the tune is impressive.

The car has NOT been tuned at all.. I've been running the Z as is ever since I installed the mods.. I'm planning to tune in a near future..

Without a tune, is 298whp low for Dynojet with current mods?

I've only seen guys on here get 10 or less HP from a tune, but i'm definitely no expert.

I would say that your numbers are low with the current mods you have. I did a baseline dyno of 285 stock on a dyno jet

Your numbers are fine for that weather. Dynojets dyno stock at 275 average, but it really depends on the way the dyno is setup. The only way to know is to know the baseline run and from there you can get % increase. Ask them if any other stock 370z have run on there. Either way, they are just about where I would expect them in that humidity/heat.

That dyno was taken in summer in Panama -- sub 300 for those mods on a dynojet (or lower) is correct, especially untuned.

You should see what summer in Tampa is doing to dyno results...

Actually, what correction did you use? SAE will skew lower, STD will skew higher.

I'm unsure about which correction was used, I'll call and ask..

Another thing is, I did three dyno pulls, all in 4th gear (my Z is 6MT)..

I'm now reading I probably should've dynoed in 5th gear..

Could I have seen higher whp numbers dynoing in 5th gear?

While the numbers do read low its impossible to tell without a baseline. Yes I believe you should have tested in 5th gear as 5th gear is the 1:1 ratio although some will chime in and say no bc you risk running up against the speed limiter on the dyno.

Theoretically, a bit more torque (and really an artifact of mechancial advantage), but not when it's 90+* F and 80+% humidity.

I tried a run in 5th under those conditions and the ECU did not like it.

Also, 4th puts less wear on the motor, both MT and AT. No need to be going like 170 MPH inside a grarage.
