Default UpRev Tune Questions...

Hey Guys,

I talked to a local shop about the UpRev tune and he gave me some options. Here is his email:

UP Rev is $499 installed.
If you wish to have it Dyno Tuned that is additional, approx $300, varies based on time car spend on the Dyno.
It will not void your warranty.
If you wish to return it to stock, we can do it or if you are selling your Z and buying another Nissan or Infiniti, we can remove it and upload it to the new vehicle $199.
and there are other benefits including smoother driving, 3-5 miles per gallon increase, and of course more power, if fact for the cost you can't get a better product.

Here's how sure we are that you'll love your Up Rev tune. Come in, make the purchase and have us Upload and setup the parameters of your Z, tweak the maps, run through all the systems.

Then take it for ride. If you don't like it, come back and we remove it and give you your money back!
We have performed many, many ECU upgrades using Up Rev and not one has come back.

Now my main questions are, what options are best? I would think doing the dyno tune would be. Also, how do the prices compare to others who have had this done. And lastly, is the information regarding the warranty true? I was pretty sure that it would void the warranty....

Thanks for any help given...

I paid about same what you're expecting uprev+tune
I don't know about the gas mileage part because mine got worse.. oh wait, it's just me.. i can't help it because it became so much more fun.

ECU part, i think it will void your warranty and even though they reflash back to the stock, there are some chances dealers may catch.

do the dyno+custom tune, you wont regret it

Yup, dyno tune is the optimal set up FOR YOU because it is customized to the performance of YOUR car's engine (+/-mods that you have bolted on).

Price seems high. What UpRev kit are they supposedly selling you? I would think that you can get the license and the tune for $500-$600. Perhaps they are not a UpRev pro tuner shop?

I am not sure what kit they are selling me. I honestly dont know too much about them besides what I have read on here. What kits do they offer and what exactly is an UpRev pro tuner shop? They have claimed to have done many of these tunes...

Like others have suggested, dyno tuning your car would net you the best results for your particular car and mods.

Just a reference on the price, we custom dyno tune each car @ $600 for n/a cars. So they are not far off.

Pelican, a pro-tuner shop can sell you the license only flash for $300 and then they add $200-$300 on top of that for the required custom dyno tune. If they are selling you a $500 UpRev license then they are selling you Osiris Standard because that is the only way they can sell it. The advantage is that you get a cable and can make your own tweaks if so inclined.
