Default do i need a tune? please help

hello all i hope that someone could help me out with this, the current mods that i have on are amuse stti exhaust, berk hfc and r2c intake, the guy at the shop today told me that my car might be running a bit too lean with all those mods without it being tuned, and that if i continue driving the car like this my engine could blow at any second, no i havent gotten a tune yet because i still want to install some more mods, and then have my car tuned, so my question is is the guy trying to B.S me just to tune my car or is there really a possibility of the engine blowing up if its running this lean, sorry for the noob question and if this is a repost, just hope u guys can help me

The general rule is if you do intake, HFC, and CBE, you need to get the car tuned.

You can damage the engine by running too lean. But you won't know how your car is running until you check your a/f ratios. Chances are it probably is running on the lean side.

Depends on how lean you are running.

get a dyno with an a/f reading. That should tell you how lean you are running. If it is too lean, it could cause knock (detonation).. it CAN damage your engine... but like m4a1mustang said, it all depends on how lean you are really running.
