Uprev in Michigan
Going to be changing the exhaust and adding the G3 long tubes, and probably going with test pipes. I would like to know of a tuner in Michigan or Chicago area. My search showed nothing in Michigan.

I'm in Michigan as well. Uprev site shows 5 in our area: 2 west of Chicago, 2 in Canada and one in Ohio. I've called Slow Motion in Ohio, but have never gotten anyone to pick up the phone. I'm also leary of a business called Slow Motion. AMS west of Chicago doesn't do many uprev tunes and you must buy the Osiris standard yourself. The 2 in Canada, well, I don't do Canada. I've got an appointment with Genesis Racing Development west of Chicago. They offer a special, if you purchase standard Osiris through them the first hour of dyno time is thrown in. I'm hoping to get in and out in a day and grab a Nancy's stuffed pizza along the way. Good luck.

Sounds good. What price did they quote you for that combo? You can PM me.
Too bad it is so far away, but I have training, business and friends in Chicago. I don't mind going over and then getting some time to checkout the changes. Do they work on saturday? |
I've been thinking of going to AMS to get tuned.. but let me know how the other one turns out.. I was a little turned off by the price at AMS but they do some awesome work.

The Ohio location must be new. For the longest time Dynosty in KY was the best and closest to MI. (they used to be Inject Performance I think). Please post up your before/after and experience if you visit the Ohio tuner. People in MI are always asking - since we can't find a reputable tuner in the Great Lakes area.
btw- if you haven't seen, we have a Z club here - check it out when you get a chance - greatlakeszclub.com Edit - It looks like slowmotion in OH is a Subie, Honda shop.. most of their posted dyno graphs are from those platforms. Only 1 or 2 Nissan dynos - none of which are UpRev. (except the g35 video) |
any update?

Not for me. Just got the exhaust, test pipes and intake on. Few other mods too. Working on the wheels now. Hope to get a visit to Chi town by the end of July. Hope a shop sets up in Mi. I cannot believe there is not one on the east side already.

Personally, I'm ready to give up on GRD. They can't schedule an appointment. I've been trying to lock down a date since April and still no appointment. They tell me I'm on the list. The list is growing shorter because so many people are cancelling. I don't know how they can do business on the fly. AMS may be the only option. Like I stated earlier, you have to purchase the Osiris Standard prior, which doesn't sound like they deal much with Uprev. At least they can make an appointment for you.
Good luck. |
I ordered Osiris Standard and made an appointment with AMS for July 22nd. It was that easy. They are more expensive, but they can actually make an appointment.

Bump - let me know how it goes. I will be out that way next month and might try to get in for a tune.

where at in michigan are you guys from?

I'm in the Pontiac area.
My experience with AMS and Uprev has not been as expected. the initial tune Uprev sent me had idle problems. I used their stock ROM with patches and it was fine. The tune I got in Chicago exhibits throttle response problems which AMS and Uprev are trying to resolve. I trust it will be resolved, I'm just a bit disappointed. Anyway the tune netted about six RWHP and about the same in torque. I bumped the rev limit by 300 and had the speed limiter increased. I have a tuned map, economy map, valet map, anti-theft map, and a stock map. I was charged one hour of dyno time and my wife made me buy an AMS tee shirt. |
