370z 7AT worth to mod??

Hi guys, just wondering can the 370z 7AT transmission handle the normal mod and heavy mod(twin turbo)?? thx!!

It will handle basic mods like I have and put down some good power( See sig), But FI you WILL need to upgrade the valve body.

Not true....I have a 7AT GTM TT stage 2 and am putting down about 200 more whp than this guys G37. I have about 3500 miles on my tranny AFTER the TT install and have NO VALVE BODY UPGRADE.

The tranny WILL have to be tuned by Uprev to increase line pressues and make the shifts quicker in the tall gears. The tall gears (4,5,6,7) are known to have small clutches and the increased line pressues get you through the clutch shift faster.

You can still get the VB uograde but in wont solve the issue. Only the tune can do that.

Contact Sam @ GTM....he is on this forum....for more information.

P.S.....Its funny to see guys like Mr G37 commenting about something they dont have and know little about.

thx man, but im worry because i saw some post it said after putting a heavy mod like added the TT, in high gears(4,5,6,7) will went crazy. Also I had an EvoX SST before, after i modded around 400hp, the transmission had a lot of problem, thats y i sold my evo.@@ Just want to make sure does 370z 7AT can handle this kind of power@@

Sam is working on upgrades for us 7AT guys to handle the power more reliably with FI kits. Until then I would not beat to heavily on it without doing what blue mentioned.

It looks like sam might have had this already covered when you posted this. Went back to GTM to make sure...

The valve body upgrade increases the speed of gear change which helps reduce pressure on the autos clutches which increases long term reliability and durability of the AT. Valve body and torque converter upgrades are essential to a long lasting durable transmission, as well as stronger forward clutches.
Just because you paid money to install a turbo doesn't make you an expert either. Your car will run fine without these upgrades pending you don't redline shift and drive aggressively. For those that will add a turbo and drive aggressive. The valve body is one in a series of mods you will need.

There's no reason to PS what you wrote. G37 was sort of right. Actually more right than you are. Though you aren't wrong either if you drive like grandma???

BlueTT seems to strongly defend the 7at. He posted that I was making up the fact that a local 370 blew his 7at up n/a.

Not sure why he loves to defend it. Regadless valve body is good upgrade but the 7at can handle FI to a certain degree, sure
