Lemers 05-07-2011 03:50 PM

Engine tune

dark_nismo 05-09-2011 11:46 PM

to bad your not in Los Angeles..

Anthony@PM 05-10-2011 11:36 AM

Lol sorry we're not closer.

and Tonybui: its a tune that works off your factory ecu without needing a separate piggy back unit. You can tune a stock Nissan/Infiniti or a full prepped race car with it. Its a great thing to do.

Asquarecan 05-12-2011 11:06 PM

I am too far from you guys obviously. I am curious what kind of numbers you are seeing on a stock N/A 370?

Thanks
Keith

awesome shop with awesome guys, my car is currently there getting some work done and re-tuned...

You can't go wrong bringing your car to them...

chuckd05 05-18-2011 07:18 PM

also they have a Mustang Dyno, that was "known" to read a little higher than average, but has since been re-calibrated, and with my cars baseline today seems spot on for what it should be...

Dyno's are for before/after comparisons anyway not "I made 550 whp here in NY so Im faster than your car that made 530 whp in CA" , but many take it that way...

But just for an example of their dyno being re-calibrated .... I made 342whp on that dyno last spring.... but my baseline today on the same dyno was 310whp 230ish tq with stillen bolt ons... that is right inline with what it should be making on a Mustang Dyno (my car has always been strong ) so I am pleased to now not have to explain why my car put down 342 lol ... They are intalling my PPE Long Tube Headers and Fidanza Flywheel and re-tuning so I will have a before/after...

Regardless of what the dyno reads, I cant stress enough how good this shop is and I am lucky to live around the corner

Yeah, the PM Dyno had become Legend around here. Great to see the numbers on the recalibration are more realistic. They are one of the best tuners in the NYC Metro area.

I have read much about UpRev, but I still can`t decide what to buy, Standard or Tuner, сonsidering that I live very much very far from US.. Advise to me please %) mods: CBE, testpipes, CAI, puley.

:icon14: I thought mustang dyno's typically read lower than dynapack/dynoject/dynodynamics etc. Hence why they are called the 'heartbreaker'

chuckd05 05-19-2011 12:16 PM

yea they do jeff, but performances always read a little high when you compared it to other mustang dyno's numbers

it really makes no difference how it reads though as its just a tool for tuning and before/after results

Anyway, everyone, go get your Z tuned at performance haha

Will UpRev void your warranty? Will dealers give you a hard time if you have this done and should require warranty work?

depends on the dealer as with any other part, they can tell if the ecu has been flashed. Smithtown is partially owned by performance I believe (or the other way around), they seem to not just immediately blame bolt ons when you need some warranty work.

Anthony can I get a price on a tune? Wondering if it is worth the drive.
