Details!

you can read the vvel in degress of activation its not hard to see the difference with Uprev.
if there is a difference then we should be able to come on a conclusion that they tuned the vvel on the nismo.

Okay, I'm sold on this admittedly less crazy idea.

So... who will do it?

I can probably get OEM VVEL data in due course, so all we need is a Nismo-er...

I'm pretty sure someone tried this already and saw exactly 0 gains from it.

What -- really? Someone swapped in a Nismo ECU?

Again, is the VVEL ECU in the same box or not? If not, maybe they only did half the swap???

the VVEL actuator motor are connected to their Module which is then connected into the ECM...

but no one knows what unit does what and how...

edit ; i doubt someone just swaped a Nismo Ecu into a normal 370z because its a bit more complicated than that

You can't swap the ecu as the key is programed into the ecu plus the vin number. This a possibility if there is a second ecu just the vvel system.

Really -- now that is interesting. So you can't just swap out the ECU?

gonna have to correct you on that one, i know what each unit does and how and the vvel sub box has no control over the adjustment of the system. It is a driver box that powers the motors on the actuators and reads the sensor input from the back of the heads the interperets the angle and the amount power and polarity sent to the motors to maintain that angle or change it at the desired speed according to the requested signal the ecu sends. Of course it has a few more functions and several communication lines to the ecu but on the whole the vvel "tune" is stored in the ecu. A certain company has been a little lazy about releasing the tuning software for the vvel, so i started to talk to GTM and some things will be coming together in the future

i had an idea it was something like that but no one seem to have been able to confirm it. All I know is what I see in the service .pdf , it is first connected to the VVEL module then the ECM.

I stand corrected -- thanks for clarifying!
