Dyno was done on Mustang AWD dyno, I believe shows very conservative figures, room temp was around 77-80F dont know if that helps

First Run

Pre tune figures

Car pushed 240whp and 262 torque

Final graph
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...z/9a2d6113.jpg

Finally 261whp and 286 torque, a gain of 21whp and 24 torque

Red line was extended till 7750, and speed limiter was removed as well.

they didn't measure A/F before tun and after the tune it was inline with 13 to 13.4, which was adjusted to somewhere between 12.5 to 12.8. One of the reason to get a tune was to fix the A/F ratio, but the guys told me these cars do go that much lean with wide band A/F, so they corrected only after I told them.:shakes head:

Some minor changes were done to gearbox as well.

I will post some videos later.

Now, I was quiet shocked to see the figures but they said their dyno shows very conservative numbers. I am finding it hard to feel the changes which people usually see after the tune. Car is pulling good post 3k rpms but I call it a slight difference.

Does anyone find any abnormal thing in the dyno graph and is there anything else which needs to be corrected? As I am thinking of returning the license because the difference I felt is very very less

The tune really depends on how the car comes from the factory and the quality of the tuner, If your car is already able to maximize most of the gains from your bolt-ons even a great tuner would only be able to extract a few whp out....

But I would say a Gain of 20+ whp with just a tune is great!

I also used a Mustang dyno and went from 282whp to 304whp after a few bolt-ons Im sure with a tune I might get another 10-15whp at the most.

I have all the following engine/bolt-on upgrades:

Berk HFC's
Stillen Gen III Intake
Stillen Dual Exhaust
Stillen Lightweight Pulley
Grounding Kit
Gates Belt
Stillen 304 Stainless Steel Headers
Fully tuned Cobb AccessPORT

And the best I finally got was 315 whp and 252 torque.

That minor change is after getting the Cobb AccessPORT tuned, btw.

What I find strange is mine was 272 whp bone stock.

G37sHKS 02-16-2011 06:56 AM

lol your car is the first car in whole VQ series that have torque more than HP:bowrofl:

Unclemeaty 02-16-2011 07:39 AM

Mustang dynos are wierd. Congrats on the delta difference between before and after your tune. Thats what is most important.

Now, tell me where did you get those front fenders?

I sorta noticed that, too.....but thought maybe I was missing something. :icon17:

Something is wrong with these charts. Sure Mustang dyno's read low but his torque figures are crazy high. When you convert the torque numbers to HP using (trq*RPM/5252) you get really high HP numbers as well.

Further more, the picture the snows the dyno screen has 2 different scales for Torque and HP, yet the chart still crosses over at a perfect 5252 RPM - which is impossible.

Basically your numbers are meaningless because whomever programmed this dyno did it wrong.

TongMan 02-16-2011 08:41 AM

Those dyno graphs just looks wrong.

Unclemeaty 02-16-2011 08:47 AM

I agree. The dyno graphs just look wrong. TQ and HP are always supposed to cross at 5252 RPM provided that the scales are equal. In this case the scales are not equal.

My friend, maybe t its time to find another dyno.

Still, execlent job on the tune. It appears the tune did give you good gains.

Red__Zed 02-16-2011 12:31 PM

Dyno cal was probably off. What gear did you do the runs in?

The workshop is quiet reputed here, do lots of tunning for jap and german cars, that Panamera belongs to some royal person in Oman and just came here for the tune

I read about your numbers...awesome:tup: but maybe the dyno is different man.

Yeah whp comes to 294 if I calculate according to what you said.

It has two different scales but in the final one hp scale is not there....TBH Im a noob on these things, so any idea what could be wrong here??

Yeah, it's possible that it was mis-calibrated.

Isn't 5th gear the 1:1 ratio? Maybe 4th for the 7AT?
