UpRev tune and high oil temps
So to begin I have some results from the uprev tune that can be interpreted a couple different ways I guess. My car baseline dyno'd 255 hp with bolt ons consisting of K&N short ram intakes, Fast Intentions HFC and CBE 18". pretty low from what I've seen on the forum. But after the UpRev it picked up 33 hp and 30 lb ft of torque. Those results seem pretty ridiculous to me since most people are picking up between 6-10 hp with the tune. 288 hp after the bolt ons and the tune? Is my car weaker than the rest or is it the dyno? And could I have picked up the big gains because the tuner was running a higher AFR than he should be at WOT? So today I took it out for the first time and drove it hard... like i stole it. I have never once had my oil temp get past 200-210 max before and today I pegged at around 230. Could that be caused by the tune and an unsafe AFR? Just wondering... lots of $$$ invested in this car and I wanna be able to drive it safely.

It depends on how the car first reacted to the modifications, some have adjusted and some took an tune (Uprev) to adjust it.
Oil temps are probably from just getting on it more than you normally do. |
so you think after those bolt ons and tune 288 hp is pretty normal? seems low compared to everyone else

on Uprev's Dyno in Austin or somewhere else?

No I live in Flower Mound so the only authorized uprev tuner in north texas is AWD tuning in Flower Mound.

Not totally sure but I know it is an all wheel drive dyno if that could narrow it down

Yea those numbers seem low, and that UpRev gain seems wayyyyy high. It was probably the dyno. Maybe it was set up incorrectly? As for the higher oil temps I believe that is normal when you get the tune, just get an oil cooler and your good to go.

Oil temps will increase if you are making more power. 180-220 is normal, so nothing to worry about if you are seeing 230 occasionally. If you are hitting 240+ on a regular basis you should invest in an oil cooler, it all depends on how you drive and your climate.
