Do I need a re-tune?
Hey guys, I recently had my car tuned at hp logic by Jack. At the time I had exhaust and intakes on the car. Last month I added a set of test pipes to car and it feel's great. Do I need to bring it back for a tune again or does the Osiris software adapt to the new mod and adjust the tuned map accodingly?

Did you opt for getting the cable so you could datalog via Cipher? Or just the license and tune?

The car will lean out a little bit from your current tune with the added test pipes. Depending on how lean they went with your current tune depends on if you need to get it retuned or not. You should be okay, but if you want to gain those few extra ponies you could see if they're willing to do a touch-up for you.

Just the license and tune. I wasn't even aware I could get the cables and datalog.

Jack is pretty damn good.. and might have some thoughts on the subject. I've always found him to be reasonable.
Yes, you can purchase an Osiris cable which will allow you to do e-tunes (aka Jack could have already sent you a tweak and you install it from your garage if he had the tune adjustments based upon some data-logging via the Cipher software), or you can discuss with him and pop back over if it makes sense. The big thing as Staples mentioned is the AFR, and making sure the ECU is able to adapt for your change, and give you the optimum AFR and performance. I would give Jack a call and discuss before you took random advice from here.. he tuned your car, and is definitely versed with Z's, UpRev, and these mods.. He's a straight shooter.. |
Thanks Josh, I appreciate the input.
