I was planning on buying the cipher cable for now just to test out the Uprev software but then I read this in the FAQ section. Is there an upgrade

I was planning on buying the cipher cable for now just to test out the Uprev software but then I read this in the FAQ section.

Does anyone know if that is old info? Will I have to get a new cable or just update the license if I decide I want a tune?
