Aem wbo2

I've had it installed for a few years and still use the same WBO2 sensor. I'm happy with it. |

Ok. But I doesn't have the aem ecu, just stock ecu and just want to put it on. Because will mod the car lil bit. Just want to make sure my afr is on the right number. Anyway what is the right number for afr on daily driving on our z?

AEM UEGO Wideband
You can install this even if you don't have the AEM ECU.
An AEM ECU and datalogging are not required but available if you want to do that later. Most likely you'll datalog only and that's only if you feel like it. The installation is very easy: 1. get the supplied bung installed and welded for ~$20 OR use the new $40 non-weld bung that clamps on w/ a gasket. 2. tap into a 12v power source that is SWITCHED with your ignition for the car RUNNING. Don't connect it to an ACC power that is on w/ the engine off. 3. ground it. 4. mount the guage 5. run the cable from the WBO2 to the Gauge done. Not sure what tuners are using for target A/Fs. I have a TT so I target 11.5 at WOT and 14.7 at idle. I don't mess w/ the Nissan or JWT tune between those to situations. I already posted that question in the Tuner section but have not received a response yet. |

I thought the OEM O2's are widebands?
If so, so long as you can datalog from the ECU, no need to pay for extra gauges. I would look into getting some datalogging software you can hook up to either a laptop or PDA or possibly the Nav system. That way you'll also be able to datalog other parameters as well. What are you going to be using for tuning?

The best, least expensive and most reliable wideband gauge on the market. Install is easy, aside from welding a bung into the exhaust stream. The rest of the gauge is very simple to install.

Why not purchase the Uprev cable and use the Cipher software to read the stock widebands? The cable/software runs about $200 and you can datalog a lot of info other than AFR.
As for AFR at WOT, I've seen anywhere from 12.5:0-13:0 used on the VHR. Mine is tuned for 13.2:0 at WOT, with pretty much stock ignition timing (i have an HR G sedan)

have you compared the absolute numbers between the stock widebands and aftermarket units? How much of a difference are we talking about?
