Standalone ECU?

Is there even a stand alone system being a work in progress?

Notwithstanding the need to crack the VVEL system, you're not going to get a better standalone than the OEM ECU, which can be reflashed.

How many aftermarket ECU's start out with the best basemap you could ever hope for, developed from 1000's of hours by factory techs, with full OBDII trouble shooting and reliable spark retard/limp mode when running hot or detonating?

Yes, Haltech which is great, is starting there development for the 370Z, they said it will be at least 6 months. I have seen the haltech and it is great if you choose to go FI and have to tune your car.
