Yes more info please ...

Zsteve 07-24-2010 09:14 PM

dyno tune or canned tune?

Nikon FM 07-24-2010 10:46 PM

Here's another vote for more information. Send me a PM if you feel the need. I talked with a fairly "good" tune shop in Kent a couple weeks ago and am pretty sure I'll use them in time. If they are the ones who messed up your tune I'll need to go a different direction.

yeah, whats up dude?

I'm going to Vivid Racing to get all of my Dyno runs, then once I get everything you can do Bolt on done, I will be going to them to get a tune.

They are working with a company to make software for the 370. I've been told they made very successful software for the 350. I can't remember the name off the top of my head, but I will ask about it when I go back Monday. It's not Cobb or UpRev I know that much.

yes i was tuned in kent somewhere , dont wanna tell the name .

i have Stillen G3 F.I test pipes Gthaus exhaust ...

and just tune out nothing increase...

the guy said before my car is run too lean ( test pipes problem ) after tuned the mid range is better... and better air fuel.. thats all..

and it is a dyno tune...

maybe the problem is automatic.... anyone tuned a AT??

That's got nothing to do with it -- can you post the dyno graph?

It may just be there wasn't a whole lot more to get out of it. Check out the Import Tuner thread -- in that dyno they clearly barely touched the AFR's after intake and exhaust, and my guess is just added a little timing to pick up some more (not much more, mind you) torque.

Also, when you say "the midrange is better," keep in mind you can't just go by peak numbers -- you have to consider the whole powerband. If peak values were minimally improved, but you gained some torque in the midrange, that's good!

Finally, you could also try another tuner...

I know your pissed because you wanted to see results like other people of 10+ hp and a great increase in torque but those numbers are not the norm.

It may feel like you just threw 600 dollars down the drain but if they corrected one thing I would think its worth it

what are you guys paying for a dyno tune? With just the A/F ratio and octane ratings and altitudes being the only thing they can really change, why not just get a canned tune for less?

JACKPAC 07-25-2010 12:29 PM

Haha, how'd you go from the engine dyno to blamming the transmission? Personally, I think the suspension is to blame :p

Zsteve 07-25-2010 01:39 PM

I have the 7AT with a AAM tune off the Cobb AP and it was basically just a new file that got the A/F right and accounted for the 91 oct and altitude. My car runs good with no probs.

Kidding aside, Dyno's have shown in the past that 7AT's would produce a lower Power reading than a same equipped MT, this has to do with the drivetrain loss is higher in the 7AT, but it's no slouch either.
