UpRev E-Tune's?
So has anyone here purchased the $500 UpRev package that comes with 3 E-Tunes? Just wondering how things went, and if all three were needed to get a good tune in the end?
|
Please view my thread there's right next to this one! It will answer all your questions and the tuner, HP Logic, is located right by you!

I saw your thread, but I'm asking about the E-Tunes and not a tune from a shop.

The E-tune process requires you to have some data from running on the dyno/track to ensure and test that the changes being made are positive. If you are familiar with datalogging and collecting test info then you will have no problem. Without a proper environment for getting this info you will not be able to get the setup dialed in perfectly...I usually need to do about 3-4 flashes to get everything perfect on the dyno...and that is with the car sitting right in front of me....lol.

What if I have a private road I can do 0-60's on? Just straight shots. I could probably get up to about 80 safely.

I purchased the Osiris Standard and just did my datalogging for the etune last week. It says there is about a 2 week turn around for etunes, so hopefully I'll see the new tune sometime next week. Will let you know how it goes.

Cool, thanks edconline! What kind of driving did you do while datalogging? Did they give you any guidance?

It says for the etunes that they require two 0-60 pulls and one city/hwy cruising log. I used the performance logging feature for the 0-60 runs, this will start logging data as soon as the car starts moving and stop when you reach the target speed. (I did many runs, and just sent two of the better ones with decent launches)
This was the first time I had done any full throttle burns from a stop, and I found out launching the car was harder than I had expected. None of the 0-60's I did were amazing but hopefully the ones I sent will suffice. On another note, I'm still not sure how they tested this car 0-60 at 4.7s as the program recorded my best run at 6.0s. (Granted this was my first time doing these pulls, and I had some trouble getting into second gear at redline, after a couple missed shifts and some gear grinding I started shifting to second at around 6800 and it seemed to go into gear a lot easier.) I'm sure the B&M SS is helping a bit, but I think the stock clutch is definately gonna go as soon as there is a good replacement solution out there. For my cruising log, I just started the logging and drove around town for about 5 mins. They do give a list of parameters that must be included in the data log so I just made sure I had those all selected. |
Nice, thanks again. Doesn't sound like too much work, as long as the tune you get back is decent.

Got the new tune back a while ago and I am VERY impressed with the results. The tuner mentioned that the car was running rich and he leaned out the target AFR's. Not sure what else was adjusted but it definately pulls a lot harder in every gear now, especially at higher revs. Much more of a difference then I expected, I have to change how I'm shifting now! I may go get it dyno tuned sometime down the road anyways just to see if they can squeeze a bit more out of it but for now, this has been an awesome solution.

That's pretty cool, thanks for the update. Now I wish they would just email me back about some questions I had. You would think a company would be better about trying to get someones business, but I guess not.

One question I do have is if the $500 package is all I would need to be able to revert completely back to stock if I have to take the car in for warranty work? Any idea if it is an easy process?
|
Wait a sec, Flashburn...your signature says you have the Cobb AP with canned tune. Don't you just "uninstall" the AP if you don't want it anymore? They won't be looking for your ECM map when doing warranty work.

Uprev includes a 'back to stock' map so you can reflash the ecu back, glanced at the instructions and it seemed simple.
