UpRev Tune results

Today I made a trip to HP Logic in South Florida to get my UpRev tune done. They have a Mustang dyno so my goal was 300HP+ which would equal roughly 320HP or so on a Dynojet. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful and I will definitely do business with them again. Anyway, on to the results!

Unfortunately i do not have a scanner and my phone camera can't focus on the text on the sheet, so I'll just have to write them out. Check my sig for my list of mods.

Baseline 290HP/217tq

Tuned 300HP/225tq

Redline was also increased to 7700 RPM. The chart is impressive, the gains are throughout the powerband, the largest increase was at 6k RPM(around 12HP/11tq!). When I first drove it I noticed the difference immediately. The power came on quicker, pulled harder and lasted longer. Well worth the money, the Valet and Disable options on the tune are a nice touch too. :)

I am thoroughly satisfied with my results and HP Logic should expect to see me again soon!

Billy02987 07-10-2010 04:11 PM

Good to hear man. I've had my injen's sitting in my bedroom for a couple week's now, I'm waiting on my exhaust (F.I.) to get here so I could install them at the same time. Once installed, I plan to bring my car to HPlogic for the UpRev tune. How much do they charge for the tune?

tanamerra 07-10-2010 05:15 PM

Nismo UpRev Tune

Any 2010 Nismo owners get an UpRev tune?

Diocletian 07-10-2010 07:08 PM

They charged 500 dollars, that was with a 50 discount for being a south florida Z club member.

Reaper42 07-11-2010 09:17 PM

I have F.I. TDX with 18" resonators, F.I. resonated test pipes, and Stillen CAI, NO TUNE, and I just pulled 300hp on the dyno last night....

fairladyZ34 07-12-2010 09:41 AM

^what kind of dyno?

Diocletian 07-12-2010 11:37 AM

You have an MT which will net you a 3-4HP gain over an AT on a mustang dyno, also you have test pipes which is another 3-5HP so it makes sense.

Also the air temp was 98 degrees and humidity was about 70%

RCZ 07-12-2010 11:45 AM

Diocletian, whats up buddy.

Nice numbers for that dyno. FYI I made 310whp before my tune there.
Mods were all Stillen Bolt on's, but it was cooler outside, so we were about the same level. Congrats again.

Diocletian 07-12-2010 11:49 AM

Yeah Gus was telling me you made around 306 or so on similar mods so I'm pretty happy with the performance...for now. :) I'll be getting some Advan RG-D's come Christmas hopefully.

You going to the meet in Jupiter this weekend?

Edit: How much did you end up making on the Dynojet?

Dynopack 3000. It was about 99 degrees outside and 70% humidity.

You mean DynAPack? They read almost 15HP higher on average than Mustang dynos.

Damn, which Dynojet did you go to? I would be making close to 330 lol.

The Jupiter meet should be decently big, drive should be worth it.

Has anyone with a 2010 had their car tuned via Uprev? Is it the same as with Cobb in that the codes haven't been cracked yet?

2nd that.

KillerBee370 07-13-2010 04:58 PM

Besides the valet and disable options, any other map changes?

I have had my car tuned with uprev and have the tuner version.

In addition to A/F ratios, what else did they do to the car (e.g. increase redline RPM, take out speed limiter, cam timing, etc)? What does the "tuner version" do for the end-user?

Diocletian 07-14-2010 03:31 PM

They increased my redline to 7700. Unfortunately the way the ECU is designed you CANNOT ADVANCE timing, you can retard(lol) it only. Basically they just increase the redline and tune the A/F so you have a steady, safe, and consistent delivery of fuel throughout the power band.

There's only one "tuning" option available really, not a lot you can do with the ECU.

Also, I don't know of any other options on the tune other than disable and valet, I believe that's the only 2 others you can get. Of course I MAY be wrong!

HP Logic 07-15-2010 12:14 AM

The dynamic timing that Nissan uses on the 370z is extremely sensitive and makes changes depending on many variables (oil/coolant/air temps etc.) rendering timing changes in the positive to be unresponsive...the ECU determines the safest and most advantageous timing point with great accuracy!.....

as for other map choices...there are 5 slots available for maps....i usually only set 3 of them up in the power/valet/disable configuration.....

Diocletian 07-15-2010 08:15 AM

Well there you go, lol.

jnaut 07-15-2010 08:40 PM

ask and you shall recieve...

jack, can u eliminate rear o2 sensor input completly? or does it just shut off the ability to trip the check engine light, becaused by the catalyst efficiency is below the threshold?

Hey J!...My understanding is that the ECU will omit the catalyst efficiency check when disabling the code....the sensor will still function...just the code has been removed from the functionality check list.

NYBladeZ 07-26-2010 11:30 AM

The inability to crack the VVEL is a real downer. I know thus far it's not really a big deal since the only real engine mod many of the forum members have done is intakes. However, when things like aftermarket intake manifolds, throttle bodies, and cams hit the market VVEL will need to be cracked unless the ECU is a supercomputer and gives you the best advanced timing automatically.

TongMan 07-26-2010 11:34 AM

Sooo...10 hp and 8 tq peak for $500...dunno...

So then dont. Its your car do it your way as others do it their way.

TongMan 07-26-2010 01:35 PM

I won't. Thanks.

NYBladeZ 07-26-2010 02:25 PM

$500 for an A/F tune and slightly increasing the redline to me is a bit much unless they promise to update your tune or give you a large discount in regards to tuning the timing if and when it is cracked.

It is not about HP/TQ gains when getting a tune, it is about the safety of the engine and staying within the range of what is "good." Power from a tune is the side effect or the bonus you get, so for 500 dollars it is a good deal.

CATCHINZZZS 04-28-2011 09:08 AM

Iwas told also u get full throttle response all the way, not like stock setting where it is set partial throttle

ANMVQ 04-28-2011 09:58 AM

I will be getting my car tuned tomorrow. 2011 G37X, For one I know I will not see any where near 300 WHP( Mustang dyno), For 1 I have a Auto and AWD, :/

What was the correction factor on on your run?? Casue 300 WHP on a mustang with boplt ons is EH how do you say?????,,..

ANMVQ 05-01-2011 08:33 AM

Ok maybe I was wrong and did not really know how nuch the VQ could make. :/

I made 298 WHP and 230 WTQ. I was shocked as hell. And I trust the dyno, have beeb there before and know a bunch of guys that trust it and esprcially when they tell you they will read lower that others,, They where actual shock also. Before me was a G35 Coupe with mods and only made 230 WHP or so.

Nitex 05-01-2011 09:29 AM

i made 300 on a mustang dyno with just bolt ons. Not tuned yet..

ANMVQ 05-02-2011 07:21 AM

Dont be surpised if you do not make any more at peak, I made 297 WHP and 228 WTQ before the tune.. But all the gains are made in the mid range and everything comes on earlier in the power band. Full torque is made at 4300 RPMs :)-

Totally agree. Having a CB,Tps, and intake just isnt enough for a tune. In the meantime purchase other things till the VVEL is cracked. Uprev 1 time and be done with it.
This brings up a good question. Are any tuners offering any discounts on uprev re-tunes? Cause when that VVEL is hacked what about all those who payed $500 plus... will you honor them discounts on coming back? I sure hope so.

ANMVQ 05-05-2011 07:25 AM

Thats a GREAT question but I heard no one is close EX GTM, on cracking the VVEL.

Erik@RTTuning 05-05-2011 09:33 AM

We typically offer tuning discounts to any Z car guys that have been in for a tune in the past. Once we have had the car in for a tune the next one is much easier and quicker so why not offer a discount to the community?

We had a real strong car in two days ago. 2009 370Z with a Nismo exhaust, Berks, and K&Ns and it put down 317 rwhp at it's peak.

That's good to know about the uprev re rev discount plan. I have 1 more mod to apply and you'll be hearing from me again erik
I saw the numbers that fed hill z put out. I commented. Im impressed cause I know that Nismo cb is restricted . I can only imagine better things:ughdance: w my set up.

HP Logic 05-06-2011 11:37 AM

Yes I also offer a prorating system for tunes done in house....I value my customers and realize they chose to tune with me for a reason....
