What are the chances that non-Nismo cars could be retuned to the Nismo tune specs? I figure we would need an aftermarket exhaust most likely to still get the max

Nismo tune for non-Nismo cars?
What are the chances that non-Nismo cars could be retuned to the Nismo tune specs? I figure we would need an aftermarket exhaust most likely to still get the max performance, but it should be a relatively safe tune considering its on the production Nismo. Thoughts?
Maybe tuners could pull the OEM Nismo tune and compare to the OEM non-Nismo tune..

My question is why? Add your bolt ons and get a Cobb or Uprev tune and call it a day.

Not sure how aggressive UpRev and Cobb tune the cars with the timing. I dont want to be pinging on the street b/c the tune is too harsh.

The whole point of those tunes is to avoid that . They get you to the optimal safe A/F ratio and you're good to go.

Adjusting A/F trims is good but I heard there is a lot of advanced timing in the tunes as well. Per previous discussions in posts, the A/F adjustment is safety only really not much power there. The timing is what is bringing the gains. I'd figure that the NISMO tune might also adjusting the valve timing a bit to properly get more out of the system, aside from just advancing the timing.

If you got an AP I have a NISMO rom you can use on your non NISMO Z, it made shag all difference to mine on the butt dyno, the Exhaust advance holds 200 rpm longer, not really noticable lol

So 10hp isn't worth it to you? I mean I'm not expecting much from a n/a tune but 10-15hp would be worth 500-600 to me. I mean I was planning on getting a cobb AP but now that they are not moving forward I would like to see some other way to get a nice tune. Figuring out a way to get the Nismo tune sounds good for the already mentioned idea that it's proven safe by nissan already.

This was the point, might not be amazing gains but every little bit helps and its pretty much guaranteed to work safely.

Kastley, I was just told that the Nismo ROM is incompatible with non-Nismo due to hex key lengths or something being different. Do you have the OEM tuning map or something for the Cobb AP? I think that would be the way to do it is to remap the non-NISMO ECU with the NISMO map. Thoughts?

You are correct sir but this NISMO rom was converted to match the non NISMO ecu by COBB engineers so it has the NISMO data in the non NISMO acceptable flash parameters.

Super duper. Can you attach it to an email and send to "cboney@gmail.com" please?
What have you noticed that is different in the tune from the OEM non-Nismo? Somebody said the exhaust advance is held 200rpm longer, which might make sense considering the Nismo is "supposed" to have a better flowing system. Have you used this on your car and if so, notice any better performance?
