Accessport Maps?

I'm looking at picking up an Accessport but the Cobb way means no maps and AAM isn't replying to e-mails. Any chance anyone who got one with a custom(ish) tune is able to make their maps available for download with a brief description so that the rest of us can just grab an AP from anywhere and use those maps?

kdoske 03-26-2010 07:24 PM

this is not a good idea. Just call AAM.

Red370 03-26-2010 07:56 PM

tried unsuccessfully today to look at the AAM map they included on my AP and it was locked, smart fellas them AAM boys.

bluestyle55 03-27-2010 08:23 AM

I don't blame them for locking it down. What use to them would it be to sell one guy a tune then he shares it with everyone.

Dr.Awkward...just give them a call. They have like 15+ staff...someone will pick up.

I checked AAM sponsered cobb ap + AAM competiton premapped tune tread. It looks like the tune was free if purchased before 3/20/2010. The cost for the tune looks be 395.00 in addition to the Cobb ap 495.00 so now it will cost 890.00 for both? If that is correct I really f'd up not getting this before end of sale 3/20/2010. 890.00 is a big jump from 495.00!

The 395$ (at least use to be) was for an e-tune. You would data log with the access port then send them the info and they would create you a map. 595$ for a dyno tune (thats what I did).

If they are changing 395 (canned tune) + 495 (AP) you might as well only pay them the 495, do some data logging, then send them the info and they will create you a map specific too your setup. Or if you are on the east coast like me...spend the extra 200 and get a dyno tune.

But that’s just my interpretation...might want to call them and clarify.

I think what happened is that the units werent selling at one point and they lowered the price to bump up sales. Then all of a sudden they caught on so now they have put the price back to where it was. They may come down again if they dont sell well again.

Its $100 now for the generic baseline tune, I think that's what most people here have, the $400 one is totally custom to your car.

That sounds like a pretty good deal and would satisfy what I am looking for. If I had full bolt ons (pulley, catless LT header, CBE, CAI, gears...) then I would probably get the custom etune since I would have a more unique setup.

They can still do a canned map for that setup but a real tune would net the most gains.

What they told me though is that the expensive tune is like a subscription, as you continue to upgrade you can keep sending them data with new parts and they will send you new maps to go with the upgrades at no extra cost.

could be, I know on my last car once you bought the tune upgrades were free. The tune was from GIAC.

Hmm....I would need to hear this statement from them directly to believe it. If true...wow what a deal. When I was at AAM in person getting my car AP tuned on there dyno i asked a similar question to John who was the actual tuner. I asked if hardware would change (let's say I added something else down the road) would I be able come back and get that addition tuned into the map he was making me then. Be said yes, but I would have to repay the dyno tune session fee (595). Which makes sense for the most part. So I would be surprised if the etune...which is technically cheaper than the dyno tune would come with unlimited upgrade tunes.

I think AA, for $395 will do a tune where they send you the device, you copy your map onto it, send it to them, they tune, send it back, you load it make another copy of your info, send it back, they tune, etc.. til its all right.

Now if you add something later I dont know if they will then tune for it.

Does anyone know if the Accessport and tuning will work on the Aussie spec 370?
